Now you're just thinking you know more than others. No, you're wrong, i actually follow the russian football because i like Zenit.. I knew about Anzhi since along ago, since they were in the 2nd Russian division aka Russian first division, they came to the Premier Division 2 seasons ago (won the 09 season) so let's not enter in the "i know more about the team than you", because that's not what matters here...

I don't think he means knowing about them in that way...

I am not gonna answer to that , let's keep this thread clean and inside the topic :).

Still, it's a move forward if it comes down to money, i am pretty sure he will win tons of money like R.Carlos... I believe Anzhi can be a major force in football, no doubt, but they're just buying their way up...

Exactly, I'm not talking about knowing the team. I'm talking about the potential the team has for growth in financial and on-the-pitch aspects.

Foss, you're right, they have alot of potential, if they keep buying players like these, but now let's face it... Dzsudzsak wouldn't go there if they gave him the same wages he was getting on PSV...

He is from eastern europe, so it's not that ridiculous that he'd want to move closer to home

It's not like other teams in Russia don't practice signing contracts with large wages. Anzhi hasn't spent ridiculous amounts of money yet and compared to Zenit since their new chairman arrived in 2008, they've spend more money on more signings but they still find themselves at fourth place in the table at the moment. Anzhi did good business when they picked up a lot of the old Saturn Ramenskoye players on free transfers and some other "small money" deals on players like Lakhiyalov.

True that!

And to let something clear, i am shocked he went there, and in MY OPINION a big part of him did it for the money, i am not saying Anzhi sucks or something, they might be in the champions league next year if they continue getting good players and if they keep the recent good form, and also, i am a bit stunned, but inside i also think it would be awesome if Russian teams got better and started to fight for the Champions league, the more good teams we have, amazing, but you guys also have to admit, if it wasn't for the money they have now alot of the players they signed, and will sign wouldn't go there...

Maybe not closer to home literally, but much more like the culture and environment that he grew up in. Of course every player considers money. ****, if I was offered my job in Russia for a lot more money then I'd strongly consider it. I don't think it is solely a money based decision though in this case.

PSV > Anzhi, despite their money.

The Dutch clubs and leagues are past it, the Russian clubs and leagues are on the up.
In 4 years time that statement will be laughable.

Agree, but let's face it, players that play in the Eredivisie are more likely to go to a giant from European football, thn the ones that play in Russia.. And i am sure if he was between Real Madrid and Anzhi he would go to RM...

The Russian league coefficient is higher than the Dutch one's anyway.

Fair enough. But now is now. And no one'd say that River Plate would be near the relegation four years ago. We need to be careful with that. And, even if that's the truth, the Russian top teams aren't better than the Dutch top teams. IMO, Dzsudzsak made a big mistake. But let the time show me right or wrong

I'd say the Russian top teams are ahead of the Dutch ones with ease.

Yes, it's always a good idea to compare teams based on one match.

All i am saying, a team like Twente, that it's not the best team from NL won against the best Russian team... Just saying!
