APOEL Legend Jovanovic sacked after *** scandal with Miss Cyprus

Three days after it was revealed APOEL coach Ivan Jovanovic was involved in a *** scandal involving Miss Cyprus Andri Karantoni. The club released a statement on the clubs website saying they are disgusted with the Macedonians actions and it would damage the clubs reputation if he were to carry on managing the club. Ivanovic's career at APOEL was a rather decorated one in which he won 3 league titles, 4 super cups and has managed to lead the players to two Champions League group stages. In addition to this, APOEL have also announced at their AGM that a loss of 13 million Euros has left the club in serious debt putting their future in jeopardy. And one final announcement was made. The new manager will be expected to be announced in the near future.

Protests against Jovanovic expected to kick off today.

I have edited APOEL's finances. I have added £13,000,000 debt into the club.

"i had just got in from my shift at the local bar, returning to my average studio flat in an average part of town, that right there sums me up, AVERAGE. I was brought up in Salonika, Greece. And moved to Cyprus after my Father was killed. Since then I have lived here, in Nicosia. I have only ever had one passion in life, Football. I support PAOK, and keep tabs with Celtic's results in Scotland. I played for Omonia under 15's until a big 6 ft giant came into a tackle knee high and put me on crutches for 18 months with Knee ligament damage. Ever since that day i haven't played. But coached my younger brothers team and attended coaching courses, I actually could coach professionally. B
ut I'm gutless, i don't have the bottle to coach a professional team. The media was right, i did apply for the APOEL job, but it was a joke, i knew i wouldn't get the job."

As i was looking back on my life so far, the phone s
uddenly rang.

"Hello"

"Hello, is this Stefanos Moustras?"

"yes, may i ask who is speaking?"

"Sorry how r
ude of me, my name is Foivos Erotokritou, I am the chairman here at APOEL Nicosia, it's about your application"

"oh hello there, so yo
ur just breaking the bad news?"

"not at all, we wo
uld like you to come over to the stadium for an interview, we are interested to here about your ambitions and what you'd bring to the club."

"Oh that wo
uld be excellent, i'd be honoured to. Name a date and time and i'll be there"

"how abo
ut tomorrow, say 12 o'clock?"

"thats fine, i'll see yo
u soon."

I hung up the phone and lay down on the couch, was i dreaming ? I thought it may have been a prank, I had told the lads at the bar that i had applied, and they all laughed it off. Maybe it was one of them. I set off to the high street where the best tailor in town was located.

"I collected my new Calvin Klein suit from the tailors and set off for the GSP stadium for my interview with the board. I was very nervous, the press was there standing at the entrance of the stadium, it was like they were waiting for me. As soon as they caught sight of me a thousand flashes came before my eyes. Journalists were surrounding me like i was a Hollywood star, asking me questions. But i just barged through and ignored the press. I didn't know what to say.

I was greeted by the man who i spoke to on the phone the day before

"hello Stefanos, i'm glad you could make it"

"hello sir, i'm i'm i'm..."

"dont worry son you'll do just fine, just be yourself"

" I'm very nervo
us about this, it's the biggest day of my life"

"thats ok, the secretary will escort you to a seat over there next to the other applicants"

The lovely secretary then did so, i was positioned next to 2 other men, very familiar faces. One was the national team manager and the other one i had seen around the training ground when i was in the youth team at Omonia. I started to sweat. The other two applicants looked at me as if they thought i was disabled in someway, the silence only made me more nervous. Then my name was called. This was my chance, to prove all my workmates, and the rest of the world wrong...

"Hello Stefanos, please take a seat"

"Hello, thank you."

"well lets get started, from your CV you seem to have no experience in football. Why did you apply for this job"

"Well, sir, football is my life. I have never loved anything else so much, plus this club means alot. I am still currently a season ticket holder. I know what the fans want. Those other two out their don't."

"Thats really amazing Stefanos. Inspiring more like. Now, what's your ambition for this club?"

"If i am being honest, i could see us winning all the domestic cups, and challenging the best clubs around Europe. I could see us having top of the range facilities. I could see us having some of the best youth players around the globe. With an amazing reputation worldwide and a big 80,000 capacity stadium.

i noticed that the board looked at each other as if to say "is this guy drunk"

"Once again, very inspiring. But we are a relatively small club with large debts, that will take years.."

i **** in

"now i know what you are saying is correct, but i do genuinely believe my ambitions can be met, it won't all happen all at once, of course not. But if you give me this opportunity it will be the best decision you'll ever make"

"I think it's time for you to go, thanks for coming in and we will be in touch"

I've fucked it up !, i knew i should have never applied in the first place, the chairman seemed really disgusted by my answers. I was being brutally honest. I did believe all the things i said. And i will stand by them. Oh well, back to the worst pub in Cyprus.

I was an hour into my shift at Cyprus' worst bar. It had been 3 weeks since my interview at APOEL. Nothing had been on the news about an appointment of a new manager. So I did still have a little hope, I told all my friends and workmates i had ****** it up but deep inside i still believed i did enough to get the job, the phone suddenly rang.

"Hello"

"Hello Stefanos its Foivos"

"Oh hello, Breaking the bad news then eh"

"No, Stefanos. You got the job. You are the new manager of APOEL, congratulations. I'll see you tomorrow morning at the training ground. 9am. Don't be late."

"No way, thank you so much, you wont regret this."

I told my workmates, they didn't believe me. B
ut i immediately went to the boss and says "You can shove this job up yer shiter" Then i stormed out. After my outburst. Reality kicked in. I was the new manager of APOEL. I went home and cleared a desk. I got to work on my iMac, I need to create new tactics, watch videos of the team, recognise their strengths, their weaknesses. New players. I need to get a new backroom staff together, new players. My head was spinning. I fell asleep ....

I got up extra early today, Got a shower and had a shave. Big breakfast. And got all my gear on, A car came for me at half past 8. I had worked out some training regimes the previous night, I glanced one more time through them. I arrived at the training ground. The facilities where fairly average. The press where all gathered in the car park. I tried my best to avoid them throughout the session. The players reacted well to me, i got on with alot of the lads. There were some real characters, and some class acts.

APOEL ANNOUNCE MANAGER - STEFANOS MOUSTRAS ????

APOEL have announced that 26 year old rookie Stefanos Moustras has taken over from Ivan Jovanovic after last month he was fired after a *** scandal involving Miss Cyprus. Sky Sports News exclusively revealed that he was a candidate and shrugged off the Cyprus head coach, and the Omonia manager. The appointment has came as a very big shock too fans and many of them are said to be annoyed at the board. After his first training session he popped into the press conference room.

Here's how it went.

View attachment 223442

Nicosia news: May i start off with saying congratulations on being appointed as the manager, how does it feel ?

Me : It's really unbelievable, i am still in shock. But it really is an amazing feeling.

SkySports : What do you intend to bring to the club ?

Me : Like i says at my interview "i could see us winning all the domestic cups, and challenging the best clubs around Europe. I could see us having top of the range facilities. I could see us having some of the best youth players around the globe. With an amazing reputation worldwide and a big 80,000 capacity stadium.

bbc : Your'e a very ambitious character, i like you. What tactics will you use in your matches ?

Me : Well domesticly i see
us as the most superior team in the country, so fluent attacking football will be the mentality i'll try install in the lads. But when it comes to the Champions League I will be looking to hit the better teams on the counter attack, with a disciplined approach. My team must be hard working and need to play for the badge. The fans deserve to be treated well. With good football, and of course. Trophies.

The press officer intervened "The lekky bills gonna be sky high, that'll do for today."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well that was my first press conference, i thought it went pretty well, although not a lot of q
uestions were asked. But i handled myself very well. The training session was great. The players look in good shape, sharp. Theyr'e really good passers of the ball. But their shitebags going in for a tackle. Time to roughen them up a little bit ...
