Arsenal 1st Season issues

I am new to FM14 and I am currently playing Football Manager Classic mode. But I am having issues, I have a good team, but they just are not playing well. I am in 8th position and keep drawing to bad teams.

My current team is: (Playing 4-2-3-1)
Scz - Fabianksi - Viviano
Sagna - Aurier
Mertesacker - Koscielney - Vermaelen
Gibbs - Shaw
Wilshere - Flamini - Bender - Ramsey
Griezmann - Podolski
Ozil - Cazorla
Walcott - Ox - Gnabry
Batshuayi - Giroud - Bendtner

Any help would be great.

Also how can I train players individually, like at shooting, positioning etc?

I find playing balanced and control works best with a 4-2-3-1, yes you can train players individually under the training tab it has a section that allows you to train players in a specific role or to focus on a particular attribute, I always give all my players individual training schedules.
