Arsenal First Season - Who do you sign?

alright so quick discussion.

Arsenal first season - who are you all signing?

I want a LB, DM (rival/competiton for le coq) and and versatile attacker (can play wings and upfront).
 
I am about 10 games through the first season as Arsenal (playing online with a few friends) and am in 2nd position behind a rampant Man City. The only two major signings I have made are:

1) Victor Wanyama - Competiion for Coquelin, expesive and a yellow card magnet.
2) Kevin Gameiro - Banging goals in for me. Could play out wide in an attacking role but really with Walcott/Ox/Sanchez at the club I've not had cause to play him anywhere else.

I've not looked into a LB s Monreal is playing very well and the competition with Gibbs means I don't think it's a priority position.

The issue I'm having is that when I need a result I really have to play Cazorla over Ozil. :/
 
hmmm wanyama is not on my radar if im honest.

Monreal is quality but i am looking for a young attacking LB. Just how we have Bellerin on the right.

Play Ozil on the right as either an IF or AP - works wonders and then once he is on form/confident i put him back as CAM.
 
Competition for Coquelin (Ajer, Bazoer, Bender on loan)

A top centre back, I think Rugani can be bought for around 20 million (Stones, Romagnoli, Laporte, Tah)

And a striker suited to your tactic. For Arsenal I like pacey strikers, Morata will cost you around 30 mil

DM-Sergi Samper,Ruben Neves, Kramer or Lars/Sven Bender
ST/AML\AMR-Gabriel Barbosa(highly recommended), Malcom,Berardi(just been bought by Sassuolo),Kevin Volland,Mario Gotze,Antoine Griezmann,Carlos Vela or Stevan Jovetic.
 
LB: Jorge, maybe the best young prospekt from start.
DM: Samper, Ajer, Kramer, Kimmich, Thiago Maia, Chalobah (british)
Aml/amr: Baldé Keita, Marko Pjaca, Leroy Sané, Ismael Azzaoui, Anderson (Lazio)
ST: Davie Selke, Gabriel Jesus, Sergio Diaz, Maximiliano Romero
 
Signed bender for 6.5, Got stones for 10 mil upfront at 32 over 48 months, lucas romero for 3 mil. and barbosa for 12+5

Won the season. Monreal and gibs are good. Kos / Stones patnership is brilliant.

romero
barbosa to ( but did not give him much games as lampost giroud does well on fm vs reality )
 
I just signed Higuain and Krychowiak. I'm looking at Jetro Willems for left-back too, seems we had the same idea about what needs strengthening.

Was going to get a cheap CB too, maybe Balanta but Gabriel playing well alongside Koscielny for now so may wait until Jan/next season.
 
krychowiak? every save i lose him to bayern! how you sign him?
 
Sold Walcott for 35 million...

Bought Sule for 18 after unsettling him.
Lacazette for 45 as I was short a right winger.
Barbosa for 9.5 as a versatile attacker.

Zivkovic, Pjaca, Ajer and Fossum came in and straight out on loan.

I was happy with Coq, Arteta, Flamini, Cazorla and Ramsey for CM with Crowley and Dragovic also around the first team.
 
My first signings.

In my first season as an Arsenal manager in FM16 i bought the following players:

Complete striker: Breel Embolo (highly recommended). I bought him for 17 mil + 5 mil bases on goals and international matches. He smashed in 39 goals and gave 13 assists in 52 games.

Right Winger: Gabriel Barbosa. Absolute bargain for 19 mil as a stand-in for Walcott. Let him play the same as Sanchez only on the other side. As a second choice he gave 21 assists and made 13 goals the first season.

Centre back: Eder Alvarez Balanta for 7 million. It's almost cheating to get him. He is a beast.

Bought Hojberg aswell for 26 mil, but he comes after his loan at Schalke in 2016. He plays as regista now. Absolute class.

I just started my second season and got Kurzawa (left back) and John Stones (centre back). Stones is amazing with Koss the Boss at centre back.

Don't forget to look at your own youth teams. Bielik and Maitland Niles are absolutely two players you should stimulate to reach their full potential. They'll become world class players.


Sold Giroud, Monreal, Mertesacker, Ospina, Gabriel Paulista, Flamini, Arteta and some more who are absolutely a waste on wages since i don't use them anyway.

Hay. I cant decide between embolo or barbosa,wanna sign one of them though. Also,what formation you play?

I'm playing 433 with a dm and 2 cm. Depend on what you're looking for. I recommend Barbosa as a winger and Embolo as a center forward. They're both awesome.
 
.It beats me how anyone wants Bernat at full-back. He may have a higher CA, however the spread of his stats are poor. Bernat has a higher first touch, dribbling, finishing, pace and acceleration than Monreal, however he can't defend to save his life. He has a measly 10 for marking and 13 for tackling. These stats matter a lot in the new ME and any decent winger will rip him apart. His bravery, composure, anticipation, concentration, decisions and positioning are 14, 14, 12, 12, 13, 9. The 9 positioning is particularly shocking. He also has only 9 strength and 7 for jumping reach. Monreat is 15+ for all of these stats and can actually defend reliably.

Buying the same known wonderkids over and over gets boring and team cohesion actually means something. Realistically with the squads given at the start, there are no real weaknesses in the squad. The only position you may want to strengthen is striker. Maybe Flamini at a stretch if you don't particularly fancy him there, although he has 16, 17 for marking and tackling. Offloading the first team for 250 millions worth of wonderkids defeats the object of the game imo.
 
Icardi made Giroud go mental

I only bought two players in my first season - and went on to win the champions league.

Gago for 7 mio. to add leadership and defensive balance to an otherwise rather attacking side.
He played 51 games at a 7,23, made 6 assist, scored 5 (important) goals

Icardi for 30 mio. to replace Giroud. But it was as if the competition made Giroud blossom. He scored 37 goals in 48 games and was named the second best player in the Premier League.
Icardi now works as a great supplement as a different type of striker. He got 13 goals in 31 games, but many of them was from off the bench.
 
Alvaro Morata but i u looking for versatile gabriel barbosa is nice choice
 
i have just started an Arsenal save and one of my main players was going to be Ozil, however i think the 433 would be a good formation to use and was wondering whether re- training him to play CM would be successful??
 
I want to buy Morata but when i confirm the transfer the board cancel it because Morata is injured. How do you do it ?

How does he pass the medical if he is injured? Pretty certain he is injured for 3 months at the start of the game?
