Arsene Wenger Sacked
World shocked as board terminate Wenger's contract
9k=
Ivan Gazidis has shocked the world by terminating the contract of Arsenal's longest serving manager Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman won three Premier League titles including an unbeaten season in the 2003-04 Premier League and also won three FA cups as well as the Community Shield but the club haven't won a trophy in seven years (as of 2012) and this could be seen as the reason for Wenger's dismissal. Wenger has been unavailable for comment but Ivan Gazidis had this to say:
"Terminating Arsene's contract has been the toughest thing I have ever done but I did it for the best of the club. We haven't won trophies and we haven't kept our best players. We need a new manager with fresh ideas and we look to appoint a manager within the club. We mustn't forget to thank Arsene for sixteen years of dedicated service to the club and we wish him every success in his future endeavours."

With Gazidis' revelation of a manager being appointed within the club, the bookmakers have made coach Steve Bould the odds on favourite for the managerial job with Stewart Houston a close second. In third is U18 manager Stephen Gibbs who has won the Youth Premier League and FA Cup together in successive seasons with the Arsenal youngsters.
