There is a bit of logic in this transfer.

Despite the common ways of Wenger purchasing a French player the majority of the time,Squillaci,despite being at the age of thirty,is a good defender and is still able to pledge himself should he be given the opportunity to.Not to mention that his experience in the French and Spanish leagues gives the opportunity to learn the trade in English football.

He's already known to be an aggressive tackler.

this. hes an experienced enforcer, skilled in continental football, but easily capable of prem football. would be a good signing

Certainly not the CB that I would opt for but I'm sure Wenger has looked for options and Squillaci came out as the best feasible choice.
