SEPTEMBER
A very tough and agonising month, with injuries playing a big part in the results. A huge morale boosting win at the end hopefully will set us on a run of form.
Cartagena 2-0 Las Palmas - Copa del Rey

A pleasing result for us, really showing some class, with two well-taken goals from Romain Carbonnier. The victory sends us through to the third round, where we meet Girona.

A fantastic performance in a game we didnt deserve to lose. We held our own right until the end. Florin Soava scored the greatest own-goal you will ever see, a 30 yard pass straight under the keeper.
Cordoba 0-1 Cartagena

Our first league win of the season, and after the past games, we deserved it. a rare clean sheet for my goalkeeper kept us in it, and earned him MoM. De Lucas scored from just in the area, hammering beyond Cordoba's keeper early in the 2nd half.
Salamanca 4-1 Cartagena

We were quite simply destroyed by Salamanca. With 5 first team players out, I hoped for a draw, but we were simply woeful, and didnt really deserve our solitary goal.

A boring stalemate. Neither team showed up, and neither looked like scoring. At home, we should be putting these sort of opponents away.
Real Murcia 1-2 Cartagena

My first Murcian derby saw us take the points, against a Murcia team who were perched handsomely at the summit and unbeaten. Carbonnier played above himself again, and is proving to be a good signing for the club. Rafa also was instrumental for us.

Sat very close to the relegation places, but after a superb win at Murcia, that will hopefully change.

Moreno has started brilliantly for us, scoring 3 goals from midfield, and his all-round play has been outstanding. Hopefully, he will keep this form up, and lift us from the bottom end.

Predicted High Mid Table, since I have pulled a team from Liga Adelante into safe positions in the Liga BBVA [Hércules]. Given the right signings, you should be promoted in no time. Good luck!
Yeah, Hercules often run away with the title on other saves. Also a local team for me

Another indifferent month for us. Some good wins, but some poor performances that have cost us points. A very busy month aswell, playing seven matches, including 2 Cup games.

A poor performance. We never got going, and were beaten by a well organized team. A game we should really be winning, but we just have to move on.

A solid performance against a tricky side. Victor was the star, with 2 goals, and the assist for the other goal. We now play Racing Santander in the next round.
Villarreal 'B' 1-1 Cartagena

We took the lead in this game, but failed to hold on, conceding quite soon after the break. We had plenty of good chances, but didnt have the cutting edge to put them away. A blow late in the game, with Victor picking up an injury, and out for 3 or four games.

A terrific win for us, even though Albacete held onto the ball for the majority of the game. Carbonnier got a superb hat-trick, and look deadly.

A slightly disappointing way to end what was a decent month for us. Conceded very early, but Carbonnier scored soon after, and from then on, we dominated a lot of the game. Balboa could have killed the game off in the 70th minute, but missed a real gilt-edged chance.

Still too close to the relegation area for my liking, but the squad seem to be gelling better, and are producing better performances, so we are looking to move up the table sooner rather than later.

A cracking month from the French striker. Has started to find his form since moving from South Africa, and continuously looks a threat to the opposition.
