Hi everyone,

I think I have a problem and I would like to see your thoughts on it.

I have been manager in Lyon, Bayern M, Atletico M, Schalke, Sevilla, and currently on Man city.

with lyon 2.5 seasons 1 championship, Bayern 2 seasons 2nd position, Atletico one season 2nd, Schalke 2 seasons 2 championships, sevilla 2 seasons 2nd position and now with city 2nd position.

My problem is that with teams i do excellent start, like 18-20 straight wins but always somewhere on March the teams are out-formed suddenly. Nothing i do can make it better after!!! e.g. with Bayern i had no loses till march and then made 4 and lost the championship, with man city no loses in premierleague till 18th march and then 5 draws and 3 lose, no title again!!!!

any ideas?

you team are clearly getting horribly complacent

Or that you have been playing the same players all season and they are getting tired in the end

very true. either way you're not pulling off one of two major parts of the game. team talks and squad management. if you cant do it team talks search for some very good guides here (look for wolfsong) or get an assistant manager who has a high motivation attribute.

i have played at champions cup, fa cup and league cup with my reserved players and with my regular in the league. so the players are not tired-when that sudden drop happens they have 100%-95% fitness. As for squad management i suppose the same issue applies too. it would be a continued problem from the beginning of the year, right?

as for the team talking: i do exactly the same talking to the team when i have the first, brilliant part and the horrible second one. My assistant's motivation attribute is 15 (Mark Bowen).

As for the complacency, that makes a case but when i play i have a window open describing the motivation of the players during the matches. None or one of them occasionally is complacent...

?

if you keep doing the same team talks they are not as effective. you should check the *** man feedback just before you kick off a game, i bet it will be saying players are looking over confident. use press conferences to warn about complacecy etc.

i will be looking the issues of both the press conf. talk and team talk in the future
