OCTOBER

The first match of October was a home Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace. We were the favorites going into this match, and convincingly confirmed we deserved this tag as we ran rampant in the Crystal Palace defense. A brace from Pato and Toni Kroos, combined with Tom Halmes powerful goal and Giovani dos Santos' absolutely brilliant stoppage time curler from 30 yards ensured we ran out dominant 6-0 winners, putting on a beautiful show of skill for the White Hart Lane fans.

Our next fixture was another home Premier League match, this time taking on over-achieving Ipswich Town. After an excellent defensive performance from the visitors, both teams were scoreless at halftime. This didn't last, however, as in the 59th minute Brazilian striker Pato broke the deadlock, and English right winger Lee Goodwin made it secure with a fine header just 10 minutes later. A class act in the second half, taking a good 2-0 win over resilient opponents.

Champions League Group G action was next, and we had a trip to Portugal to play Sporting CP as we hunted for out first group win. A scoreless first half proved misleading, as both teams came out for the second looking motivated to win. However, immediately it was Adrian who took the lead for Spurs, coming right off the the bench to score the first goal of the match. Ciro hit back for Sporting in the 73rd minute, but 6 minutes later we were back on top through Adrian again. Sporting didn't look to give up, and wanted to impress the home fans by pressing forward for an equalizer. However, the move didn't work, as Adrian finished a lightning fast counter-attacking move with his hat trick goal, and ended the game as a contest with a 3-1 victory.

The League Cup 4th Round fixture with Bolton was up next, with the White Hart Lane fans hopeful of a good result. Lee Goodwin got us off to a flyer in the 6th minute, and we didn't look back from there, with in form striker Adrian scoring either side of halftime to confirm a dominant 3-0 win and arrange a 5th round clash with Chelsea.

The final match of October was a home clash with Everton in the Premier League. A tight contest, with Everton battling hard all game for possession, but never really looking to threaten Ochoa in the Spurs goal. England goalkeeper Danny Webb was having an outstanding game for Everton, making some incredible diving saves to deny our attackers from great position. However, the resistance was broken in the 49th minute, with Irish central defender John Barrett heading home from a well taken corner, and we held on for a 1-0 win and make it 10 wins from 10 games in the Premier League.

I can say this again.....
COME ON YOU SPURS!

NOVEMBER

The fourth game of our Champions League group G was at White Hart Lane, against Portugeuse club Sporting CP. We confirmed our spot at the top of the group with a victory, as two goals in the first half from Nathan Douglas was enough to hold back the lone Sporting challenge offered by Daniel Carrico in the 5th minute of first half stoppage time. A 2-1 win puts us in the driving seat for first place qualification and continues our good run of results.

Back in the Premier League, and we were at the Reebok Stadium to take on Bolton Wanderers. First half strikes from Pato and Toni Kroos put us up at the half time break, and Tom Cleverley earned himself a not very clever second yellow card to send Bolton into the break with 10 men. We never looked like losing, or even conceding, as Tom Halmes netted the third of the match before Pato added his second goal three minutes from time to cap a pleasing 4-0 win.

The North London Derby was next, with Arsenal ready for a clash at the Emirates looking to try and halt our win streak in the Premier League. Rene Gotz had the Gooners celebrating in the 22nd minute as he beat his marker to slot a low shot into the corner of the net for the opening goal. The match heated up from here, with Pato going close, before Diogo drove the ball into the bottom corner from just outside the box to equalize. We were controlling the position and dictating the flow of the game, but found the final ball suprisingly lacking as we couldn't break the Arsenal defence again, maintain our unbeaten streak with a 1-1 draw, but this is the first time we haven't won in the Premier League this season!

Any game against Manchester United is always a big occasion, and it was no different this time as we hosted the Red Devils at White Hart Lane in our Premier League match. Edgar Prib opened the scoring in just the fourth minute for the visitors, before Danny Welbeck made it two in the 20th minute as United looked to shock us into defeat. We are not rattled easily, and proved it with a fine response from Pato in the 31st minute to reduce the deficit to a single goal. Pato had to be removed injured at halftime, but we didn't seem to miss him, as the lads came out fired up, equalizing from a typical wonder goal from Tom Halmes – who is quickly becoming a fan favourite at the Lane. Just four minutes later we had the winning goal in the back of the net, as Toni Kroos capped a fantastic comeback performance, in a 3-2 win.

Our next Premier League fixture was a trip to the Molineux to take on Wolves. A tighter game than expected against these overachievers, separated only by a perfect free kick from the edge of the box, curled around the wall and into the goal from Tom Halmes.

Next up was our penultimate game in the Champions League group stages, at home against Anderlecht. There were no mistakes here, as our second team slowly applied the class and pressure to take control of the game, with Lee Goodwin and Edin Dzeko the highlights in a 3-0 victory that confirms our top spot in group G and qualification along with it, with a game to play.

Last game of the month was a difficult fixture, at home against second-in-the-league Sunderland, and we fell behind early thanks to Paul Ince scoring, but a Giovani dos Santos goal was able to be mustered, as we lacked the finish due to tired legs from our midweek fixture, and played out a 1-1 draw.

COME ON YOU SPURS!!!

Unlucky with Valencia. Injuries played a massive part, robbing you of the teams best players. Oh well Spurs' gain. I think you should manage Mexico to World Cup glory, Dos Santos & Dowman conquer the world! lol.

Good to see you back in familiar surroundings mate. Great start to the season. Who are the long term replacements for Dzeko and Modric or are you looking for players?

Good luck in your second coming...

I'm keeping tabs on the Mexico job in case there is an opening before the 2022 World Cup, would be interesting to try and manage at a World Cup!

Modric is 35 and past his best, playing in the reserves right now, with Tom Halmes our key man in the central midfield, a terrific player. But even he is 30, Kroos is 30, dos Santos is 31, Diogo is 30, so my key players are in their primes at their peak, but they will only play at this level for 2-3 more seasons at very best.

With Nick Dickson I have a good attacking midfielder coming up, and in the reserves I have a German striker Mario Lehmann who is developing nicely, but I am not sure if he can replace Dzeko. At the moment I have Pato starting alone up front, with regen striker Adrian the replacement and Dzeko the third choice. Adrian is good, but only good enough to be a replacement player, not a world beating force like Dzeko was or Pato is.

DECEMBER

The opening match of December proved to be our first loss of the season, as we failed to beat Chelsea in the League Cup, losing 2-1 after a Lee Goodwin red card sunk our hopes of coming back from a goal down, even though Afellay put us ahead in the 4th minute.

We responded with a prompt win, defeating Sheffield United 3-0 away in the Premier League, with Pato, Douglas and Adrian the goalscorers. A lengthy injury to Sebastian Corchia leaves us suspect in the right back position, but I am positive our youth can cover this hole.

Our final group stages match in the Champions League was away against FC Twente. Two goals from Adrian saw us run out 2-1 winners, but the result was irrelevant to us as we qualified first in the group regardless of the end score.

And a look at the final group standings, we have been drawn against Napoli in the knockout stages.

White Hart Lane was the host of our rematch with Chelsea, this time in the Premier League, and we held strong in defense, with goals in the second half from Giovani dos Santos and Pato just 5 minutes apart proving to be enough to break the visitors, as we took vengeance with a 2-0 win.

Our next Premier League fixture was also at home, and was played for the majority of the match with 10 men, after two straight red cards for violent tackles in the first half. However, we had already held a lead, and only extended it after the cards, finishing 3-0 victors.

Looking to continue our terrific undefeated streak in the Premier League, we traveled to The Circle in Hull, where two goals from Pato and two goals from Nick Dickson gave us a solid 4-0 win over decent opposition - our finishing was just superior on the day.

We kicked off a run of three Premier League matches in six days, with a trip to Bristol City. Lee Goodwin and Luka Modric had us two goals up before McCombe was sent off for a second yellow card, with Traore and Toni Kroos capitalizing on the advantage to seal a dominant 4-0 win.

Our second match in this grueling run of fixtures was against Liverpool at White Hart Lane. We proved to be no match for our opponents, with Giovani dos Santos scoring a hat trick before halftime, and Pato adding a goal in each half, as we ran out 5-0 winners in a fantastic result.

The third match in six days, and final match of 2020, was against Wigan at DW Stadium. A Pato goal was canceled out by a Daniel Sturridge equalizer, however, Tom Halmes struck back from a blistering free kick in the second half to secure the points with a 2-1 victory to end the year on a high.

Haha I'll have to take your word for it!

JANUARY 2021

The first match of 2021 was our FA Cup 3rd Round match with Bury. Afellay and Dzeko scored, with Adrian netting twice more, to confirm a dominant 4-0 win over lesser opponents and send us through to the next round.

Our next match was a big fixture in the Premier League, where we took on Jose Mourinho's second placed Manchester City side at White Hart Lane. A tense first half saw the score remain nil-nil, but we got the boys fired up at the break, as Pato came out looking likely and scored the opener in the 52nd minute. Just 4 minutes later, Tom Halmes had doubled our lead, as we had Mourinho shaking his head at the superior quality of our side. City were managing to play with us in the middle of the pitch, but our solid wall defending didn't let them in, and our fluid attacking proved irresistible. Giovani dos Santos slipped in for the third of the game in the 82nd minute as we sealed a 3-0 win to move us 18 points clear on top of the Premier League.

Next up we kept on rolling at home against West Ham in the Premier League. Pato opened the scoring in the fourth minute, before scoring another after Giovani dos Santos netted in the 63rd minute. Clinical finishing once again proving the difference, as we ran out 3-1 winners.

Our FA Cup 4th Round fixture against Queens Park Rangers was up next, who provided a little more resistance than we were expecting. Adrian's 2nd minute goal proving the difference, as a 1-0 result gives us the win and we advance to the next round of competition.

A more dominating performance was up next, away in the Premier League against West Brom. Tom Halmes scored in the first half, with Giovani dos Santos scoring in the second half, as we comfortably controlled the ball and had all the good chances, to prevail with a 2-0 victory.

Final match of the month was away in the Premier League against Ipswich. Some tired legs were evident, as we struggled for goals, our equalizer coming from centreback Jonny Evans in the 55th minute. Rodwell getting sent off in the 76th minute didn't help our cause, but we fortunately prevailed through a powering header from Jorge Pulido, our other centreback at the time, who gave us a 2-1 win.

No purchases in this transfer window, although I did sell Portuguese goalkeeper Jose Magalhaes to Genoa for €8m. This is an acceptable value for the 25 year old, and Genoa have been raising their offer throughout the month. With Ochoa being 35, and Begovic at 33, it looks a poor decision to sell him, but I have the highly-rated 18 year old Belgian, Job Delfosse who will develop nicely in time to take the starting job.
