[h=2]AWANA DIAB, the footballer who became an internet sensation with a backheeled penalty, has been killed in a car crash.[/h]The United Arab Emirates midfielder, 21, shot to fame in July thanks to a cheeky spot-kick in his country's 7-2 win over Lebanon.
Considered a promising talent, Awana was tragically involved in an accident when travelling back from training yesterday.
Khalfan Al Rumaithi, president of the UAE FA, said: "Awana was very honest, keen and committed to his duties. It's a great loss for us, it is very painful news."

What are the odds he was using his flair in typical Arabian peninsula driving fashion? (ie...fast car + poor attempt at drifting)

Karma might be a *****, but he was only 21. He had a full career and a full life ahead of him =(. RIP.
 
Have to admit, never heard of the chap til now, so know very little about him. But tbh, to say karma's a ***** for doing an extraordinary penalty, is way ott to be honest.

I had that dude in Bani Yas in my UAE save in FM :( gutted.

A friend of mine that lives in Dubai city told me that it happens often because they drive recklessly!

but remember when the he score he got subed immediately ,and the manger said it like a 'shame' or something similar to disgrace in the media.
