Backroom advice for tactics

What's everyones opinion on backroom advice when say your assis.man says the team your playing against struggles against teams who have a high defensive line, quick tempo or narrow width etc etc and suggests doing that. Do you guys listen to any of this and change your tactics to match what he said?

I've tried games with and without the backroom advice and I can say that it helps. I've also have a tendency to close down on wingers no matter what. If they have a player that's either fast or good crosser I would close down.

Rather than depending on the backroom do your own research for heading, finishing, crossing dribbling, etc etc
