Of course it's true. He's not really a c#nt, he just has his bad moments every now & then.

How mature of him, I actually admire Mario, he had hard times at Inter and was suddenly called a "bad-boy", I think he's a good person and a fantastic/talented footballer.

with all the doubters should I move this to conspiracy thread? :P ;)

He was bullied for being a black Italian, so it was probably natural for him to do this. Still, well done Mario.

Was just going to comment that. He hates bullies because he was bullied a lot for being black, which I think has a lot to do with why he is such a loose cannon.

i cant help but think the man is massivly misunderstood. Read this earlier and its a great thing for him to do. I also heard he gave a tramp 10,000 pound after he won big in a casino. I honestly think people should lay off the man.

Hopefully he can decrease his on the field antics so we can see more of this person who actually seems like a decent guy. I admit I think of him as a douche but if can cut out his on field stories, maybe get a couple more stories like this and giving money to a tramp then the opinion of him will increase

1000 pounds to Balotelli is about 10 or 20 to you or me, and we actually have to worry about our finances.

I doubt this is true, seems like a publicity stunt.

I can't believe all of the people that think he's a good guy now, he's well none for being a huge ******* and a headcase.

I am liking him more and more though, he's funny with his comments sometimes and controversial figures are entertaining.

Maybe so, but how often do you give 20 quid to a hobo?

Yeah, exactly.

Also, while it isn't a massive amount for Mario, I imagine it would have a rather large effect on a homeless persons life.

I normally don't give money to homeless people I donate it to organizations, and I've given a larger share of my income than that, which is something considering I don't make ****, but yeah, it's good for the homeless guy but I don't see why I should now not think Balotelli is an *******.

Fair enough that you donate money to organisations, while you may have given a larger amount than £20, there is no indication that Mario's donations to charity/people in need has stopped at that £1k, he, like many other footballers, will probably donate allot more than that to charity over his career.

While it may not change your perception of him, I am sure it has done for other people. Labelling him an '*******' is rather judgemental, considering, I imagine, you have never met the man?

I've always liked Balotelli mainly cos i felt sorry for him after having a **** life in Italy

Imagine if it'd been Joey Barton or Andy Carroll! The mum would've been spit-roasted!

This.

He may be a douche on the pitch sometimes-but even I know he's tremondously talented-just needs to improve his attitude a bit. What he's like on the pitch is going to be totally different to what he's like off the pitch. Chances are he's a really nice guy and be dead easy to get on with when not playing football, and be pretty much down to earth. I've never met the guy, so I'd never judge him on a personal level. He just annoys me ON the pitch sometimes. But loaded with talent and potential.

OK, I realize that I haven't met him and can't confirm or deny his character, but come on, how many of us have met these football personalities yet make judgements on their character? All I'm saying is that the quotes I've heard from him and what I've heard about him from ex-teammates, coaches, etc. seem to indicate that he's a douche. Also, I don't get why everyone is saying we should feel sorry for him since he's a black Italian, because first of all he's a millionaire and has the best job in the world, and second, he has cried racism on a few occasions when it didn't happen...can't think of the specifics at the moment but there was an incident I heard about relatively recently when he lost his temper at a game and then said it was because the fans were chanting racist chants or something and it was confimed that it didn't happen. I know he has faced racism from opposing fans before (which sadly seems to be common in Italy) but that doesn't excuse his horrible attitude.

Having said that I'm liking him more and more, he's an entertaining personality, and it seems that Mancini has done a pretty good job at keeping him productive.

Balotelli's problems stem from way before incessant racist chanting (and i dont exaggerate when i say incessant). Not excusing his action, but if you had lived through what he'd had, you'd probably be a short tempered angry SOB too
