I've seen that Sean has been criticising some of the layout of the Stories on the site, I have created this thread to show you how to create a a good Story using a template like the BBC website, please note, I only used Paint and Microsoft word 2003 to create these. I am sure they can be done a lot better on photo shop but I do not have access to that programme.
The first thing you do is go to BBC Sports website and print screen.
Once you have done this, you copy the print screen into word and crop it, once you have cropped, copy the image into paint, it should then look like this.
Once you have your image like this, get the rubber tool and get rid of all parts of the web page you would like to get rid of.
Once you have done this, you then have a blank template which enables you put anything you want on it.
Your blank template can then allow you play around with anything you want and insert bits of text or images on to it.
The way I inserted text was via text box, this may not be that neat or tidy but it does the job.
Here is my first two templates I have created, the first one isn't two good but the second am quite pleased with.
Any comments would be appreaciated and if you need any help, feel free to ask, please may I remind you that this is a basic template and I am sure many of you could come up with something better.
Thanks Jack Fulham.
