Blimey, You really have transformed Bilbao. It's strange that from this story I look out for which of their players made the Spain squad. Gutter Muniain didn't make it (Or so I Believe). I think you have carved a bit of Bilbao into my heart. Your youngsters look amazing bud.

Do you mean does Muniain play for Spain? If so then yes - he is my 1st choice RW and just stepped down as captain!

In my Spain first XI there are only two non Bilbao players - the right back Liendo and Andoni Santano but i just sold him!

Unhappy return for Ibanez as Bilbao hit Atletico Madrid for 5!

Spain qualify for the World Cup

The good start to the season continues! Earned a victory in an edgy derby against Real Sociedad and then thumped Atletico Madrid in our next league match. Seem to be conceding a few goals though but there are several likely contributing factors to this including Barandiaran getting injured for 4 months and the fact that we lost 2 other defenders in pre-season.

Interestingly enough in the league the top scorer is Garcia on 6 goals along with Ordonez Lopez who is out on loan to Sevilla. Next up is Alain Remirez, one of my old back up players!

Just a comment, not that I'm complaining. You're not Spanish, your keyboard isn't either, so it's fine you don't have the characters, I say more out of curiosity than anything else. I believe the English/American keyboards have the ~ symbol on an easy to access key. Doesn't ~ followed by m make a ñ? Or there the ~ key prints the symbol immediately unlike in mine, in which it only appears when I press any key afterwards, as long it's not the n as then it turns it into an ñ, and it makes it not to work that way with those keyboards?.

Good luck with the new season. Maybe this time will be all wins . I'm amazed at the great regens you get. I know you look for others too but even so, wow!

Bilbao leading the pack in Liga BBVA
Bayern inflict first defeat of the season on Bilbao
Young players getting plenty of games and impressing
Spain round off qualifying with 2 wins - had more disallowed goals than allowed in the 2 games!

Disappointing start to the month with the defeat to Bayern but they are a great side. Doing well in the league though. Had a few injuries as well and youngsters such as Ruiz, Gutierrez and Vinas have featured.

Bilbao B are in the bottom half of Liga Adelante and their manager is under pressure. Tempted to add a new manager and manage the B team myself to maybe try and make my nearly men be 1st team candidates!

I have decided to take over the B team too, to make them play with the same formation etc - wont put much detail of it in the story though - will remain the same as before. Unless there is interest of course!

FRANCISCO YESTE TAKES OVER AS BILBAO ATHLETIC MANAGER

He is set as a professional footballer and is the only player off the top of my head with Bilbao connections that isnt in the game - others are coaches (Javi Martinez, De Marcos, Llorente, San Jose etc) and some are still playing - Ander Herrera and even Toquero at the age of 41!

Could of picked Bixente Lizarazu I suppose also but I though Yeste would work better.

Quality mate, Now you can almost enhance and put your youngsters on the production line. How will you get them better?

B team is gonna be tough - media prediction 2nd but I take over when they are 16th but the board expect promotion which they cant get even if i finish top! lol

budget was 50k which i spent on a physio

allowed 1 ftc, 2 coaches, 1 fitness, 1 gk coach, 1 youth team coach (dont have a youth team for B team), 2 physios and 6 scouts

Only game so far was a 1-0 home defeat to Mallorca despite dominating and conceded the goal in injury time!

I'm playing as Athletic as well and I would definitely recommend Salva Ruiz. He's looking very promising for me, still only 17 though but is a starting left back for the B team. I'd also recommend that you give de Galarreta and Ramalho sufficient playing time in your first team. Both are potentially top quality, though it varies from game to game. In Klippy's game he seems pretty average, but in my game he should become a wonderkid any day now. Same with Ramalho.

Yeah, you have to use ALT codes I think Alt + 0241

I had to choose between Salva Ruiz and Alejandro Roy and picked Roy. Hardly played for the 1st team which I regret now as he would have and should have been my back up RB. I have even capped him for Spain. Here are the screenies:
