End of Season
Safe or not??

Fixtures

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ligue 2 - Sunday 4th May 2014

Valenciennes 2 - 0
Girondins Bordeaux
Le Tallec, Ahlinvi
MOM: Kagelmacher

What a result! We win at home with a clean sheet. Fantastic performance, and good to see Ahlinvi score. Not been playing this season but due to all the injuries was on the bench. Coudl next year be his breakthrough season? We now only need 1 point in our next 2 matches to secure our top status.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ligue 2 - Saturday 10th May 2013

Valenciennes 2 -5 AS Monaco FC 5
Melikson, Saez
MOM: Ocompos (Monaco)

The 5-2 scoreline doesn't show the true reflection no this match. Yes at the end of the game only one things matters and that is the score. But we put in a really good shift, and if it wasn't for the skill of Ocompos, then i could be sat here with the 3 points easily instead of 0. In other news Kagelmacher was injured today and has been sent back to his parent club (which so happens to be AS Monaco FC!). We also secured our top flight status this weekend!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ligue 2 - Saturday 17th May 2014

Toulouse FC 2 - 4 Valenciennes
Le Tallec x 3, Pujol

MOM: Le Tallec

What a brilliant way to end the season. Le Tallec was in inspirational form. And could that be Pujol's last contribution in a Valenciennes shirt?

Player of the Month

Anthony Le Tallec - The one time Liverpool player has been in brilliant form this month. Scoring 4 goals in 3 games to help battle relegation!

Monthly Review

A brilliant month against 3 very tough opposition. I hope this is a sign of things to come next year, and i am looking forward to my first pre-season as manager. So after this months heroics lets look at the table!

There we have it, we finished in 14th! a position we have held ever since i took from manager. Next year we are looking to better that and hopefully we will be able to achieve it!

**** ANY FEEDBACK AND COMMENTS ARE WELCOME, HOPE YOU ARE ENJOYING MY STORY ****

It would be good if you went to one of the Welsh clubs, Cardiff/Swansea/Newport/Wrexham as Batistua is from Patagonia which is a Welsh speaking community in Argentina, plus Batistua speaks Welsh

There we have it, my first year experienced as a football manager, and what a year it has been. Firstly i was appointed as Auxerre manager only to be sacked months later. Then Valenciennes took a gamble on me and i have finished a respectable 14th position. I feel this is something that we can improve on next year if i can get my hand on a couple of decent signings to help improve.

Final League Table

14th place is a very good position, and something which hopefully can lead for me to build on. FC Lorient and Evian both had brilliant years pipping free spending Monace to the Euro Cup spots. While on the other end Marseille had a disappointing year finishing 1 point above us in 13th, but seal a Euro Cup spot thanks to their triumph in the cup.

League's across Europe

ITALY - Juventus where the runaway leaders in the league. It was good to see both of my ex clubs doing so well in 2nd and 3rd. While it was despair for Parma who finished bottom of the league. Special congratulations though are in order for Genoa who finished in 4th spot!

SPAIN - Real Madrid won the league against fierce rivals Atletico who finished above Barcelona in second. No real shocks in that division

GERMANY - FC Bayern retained the title, finishing 1 point above Dortmund. While Werder Bremen was relegated from the Bundesliga

Chelsea win the all English champions league final. With Frank Lampard scoring a 92nd minute winner!

Dortmund win the Euro Cup in a brilliant final against French team Marseille, with the game being settled by penalties!

Transfers/Pre-Season

RANSFER IN/OUT

13/06/2014 - IN Anthony Knockaert (?5M) - This is the big transfer of the window. We felt that Anthony has a lot to offer in the attacking midfield positions, and will hopefully hold the key on how to turn defence into attack. Spent a record breaking ?5M on him.
18/06/2014 -
IN Danny Hoesen (Ln Fee ?64K p/m) - Danny is another attacking option i have gone for, and will hopefully bring alot of competition in the squad. A brilliant player, who was unfortunately only available on a loan
30/06/2014 - OUT Gregory Pujol & David Ducourtioux (FREE TRANSFER) - Two players who i was very sad to see leave, but i could not justify giving them a wage when i could strengthen other areas in the team (A Total of 23 players left at the end of their contract as the re-shuffling starts to begin)
01/07/2014
- IN Izunna Uzochukwu (FREE TRANSFER) - A no nonsense central midfielder. Picked him up for free. I am excited for seeing him in action and think he has huge potential which i am hoping to help with!
01/07/2014 -
IN Davy Propper (FREE TRANSFER) - Another central midfielder, however i felt that we was lacking in that department. Will add extra competition to the places and someone i am looking forward to seeing in a Valenciennes shirt
07/07/2014 -
OUT Kenny Lala (?195K) - Kenny was surplus to requirements, and i would have let him go on a free, but nice to pick up some much needed transfer funds!
06/08/2014 -
IN DJIBRIL CISSE (FREE TRANSFER) - I have to say i am quite please that we have managed to bring someone of Djibril's quality in. He has lost his way over the last few years, but he still has a lot to offer and i am hoping that he can achieve that here.

The remainder of the transfer are all loan deals as seen below

Wow, what an amazing pre-season. Winning all games, with the highlight being the 3-2 win against Galatasaray. Lets hope the season starts the same way as pre-season.

What do people think of my chances this year?

Have i made good signings, or is there still something lacking?
