Just wondering what other peoples' careers have been like and how successful you have been. I'll go through my career season by season up to where I am now in not a great detail. Then I might go into greater detail as I get up to date to where I am now. The year 2023, yes I know I need to get out more but this game is too addictive! Career Beginnings
As I type this I'm listening to the Middlesbrough match today vs Derby . Half time 0-0. We need this win to challenge for the play offs. All the teams around us are losing . This is our chance. We ruined our chance on Monday away to Hull, which I sadly went to, but this is our second chance! Anyway back onto my career...
I usually begin managing with Middlesbrough, however this time I felt I wanted a better challenge, so where else better than in the grassroots of English football, where the game is not just dictated by money, but passion and hunger for victory. That's true, real football. Not your diving Ronaldo's or money grabbing Tevez's of which have ruined the beautiful game to the point where I could no longer give one who wins the Champions League or Prem. Sadly, it's whoever has the most millions, in fact now its billions. Ridiculous. Anyway this is why I wanted to start of low, so I could imagine the excitement of non league football. So, I choose newly re-erected Conference Northern side Nuneaton Town as the place to begin my managerial career. I had next to nothing in money and had to rely on free transfers and loans. So after my first season, so far so good. We achieved promotion and overall had a successful season. Hopefully we can carry this on onto the next season and have a good campaign. My best player that campaign I remember being a little player named Fergus Bell. I signed him on a free part way through the campaign and in 30 league appearances he managed 19 goals and 12 assists achieving an average rating of 7.28. A great little gem for anyone in this division who I would highly recommend signing. I enjoy looking at attendances as it reflects how good your team is doing. The club played at the small 4314 capacity Liberty stadium. The club achieved their by far highest attendance of 2607 in the play off semi final vs Solihull Moors. Our lowest attendance was 502 vs Evesham in the FA cup 2ND qualifying round. Our average attendance was a good 902 which I think was one of the best in the league. Hopefully the next season will be another good one. I'll post what happened the next season soon. I'm currently in the 2022-2023 season. Also, Middlesbrough are still drawing. Conference Surprise!
Right, onto the next season. My team had just got promoted and I'd been given the target of staying in the division. I had a next to nothing budget yet again so I had to dive into the loan and free transfer market. View attachment 239271 The most I spent was £50 on Szliard Nemeth. Neil Mcgregor, a defender, I would say was my best signing this season. In the pre-season, I arranged friendlies against high profile teams such as Newcastle and Everton in order to help raise funds, which actually worked quite well. In the lower divisions I find that it's best when you sign players on frees and get some decent players in on loan, as you don't get a lot of budget to work with. Your facilities won't be brilliant but they don't need to be at this level, that only really matters once you get into the higher leagues. The season started off well with a 3-2 away win against Hayes and Yeading. However, the next game we lost 5-0 at home to Barnet. I can't remember what I did that game, but I was now fearing that maybe my team wasn't as good as I had first thought.
In the end, the season went incredibly well, a lot better than I had first anticipated. The pre-season relegation candidates ended up finishing a respectable 7th place, just outside of the playoffs. We reached the 3RD round of the FA trophy and a highly lucrative 2nd round finish in the FA cup, losing away to Crewe. The season was certainly more successful than I had expected, as I had expected a relegation battle after that disastrous Barnet result. Although, many people on this forum seem to easily cope with the conference, so it may just be quite a easy like with a couple of half decent additions.

Top Goalscorer: Again, Fergus Bell with 19. A great player in these leagues. HIGHLY r ecommended!

Have been offered a number of "high class jobs" at teams that challenge for CL spots in England, Spain and Italy. And Been offered a few mid quality National team jobs. All Rejected. I had a 10 year plan in mind when I started, after those 10 years I wanted to have won PL, been involved in CL, and have a 30,000+ stadium, all on course expect the stadium. I jus don't think I will have the Fan base for a stadium of this size.

Sounds good that. I noticed from other FM's that as long as you keep on winning the attendances will grow too. I was selling out Darlo's stadium in the championship in last years game so you might be able to extend the stadium if your pretty much filling it up now. Good career.

Unexpected Overachievers
Let's take a quick recap. I'm up to the 2013-2014 season with minnows Nuneaton Town in the Conference National. I had just finished a respectable 7th place finish in my previous season and now I was aiming for the playoffs.
Again I used friendlies against some quite big teams such as Fulham, West Brom and Reading to gain some much needed funds. We had had a decent pre-season, but I've noticed that results in these games don't necessarily show how successful your season will be. Again, we had to rely on free transfers and loans in the transfer market.View attachment 240208 I didn't really get any incredible players in this transfer windows, however the likes of Lee Ashcroft, Paul Willis and Abdul Said did stand out. In these lower leagues you really need to get the best free transfers possible, you will have a very small budget. This is key to being successful in these leagues. Loans are incredibly helpful during the season too, as they could prove to provide quality in areas you don't have this in already. Anyway, back onto the season. We got off to a far better start than the previous season, highlighted through the large 6-1 home win Vs Blyth in the 3rd game. Throughout the season we did very well, winning many games through scoring 4 goals I noticed. We had 2 bad spells in the season, late August/early September and February.
We finished the season in 2nd place, after winners Stockport amassed an incredible 108 points. We finished with 94, which a lot of seasons would have won it. The team had overachieved in this league this season and now we had a shot at promotion, albeit through the play-offs. We faced recently relegated Kidderminster Harriers, who we'd already beat 3-0 and 3-1 this season. The first leg was away, which we drew 0-0. Everything rested on the home tie, and the team got a great result, winning a highly unexpected 6-1. This set up a tense final vs 4th place Newport County, who we drew 1-1 but also lost 1-0 against this season. This was it ! Promotion rested on this one game. 90 minutes. The winners reaching the heights of the football league and the losers destined to another season in non-league. The game ended 3-1 to Nuneaton. Success was ours! Promotion was ours! Nuneaton Town FC had reached the Football League!
Along with our great league campaign, we again performed admirably in the cups, reaching a good and lucrative 4th round in the FA Cup, eventually losing 4-0 to Premier League Stoke. In the FA Trophy, we reached a decent 3rd round, being knocked out by Corby Town.
So, this season was a successful one. Football league was coming to Liberty Way. Also, at the end of the season, the board had just granted permission to build a brand new 7990 seater stadiums, ready in 2 years time. The future was bright for the underdogs, the minnows, the overachievers. Again Fergus Bell was a prolific force up front for the team, but this season the limelight belonged to Neil McGregor, who amassed an incredible 18 goals, from central defense! He really was a brilliant player and highly recommended to all in the lower leagues! Loanee Tom Bradshaw was also a good signing, although he only played a handful of games and is probably too expensive to permanently buy for most teams. Now, onto League 2 ...

Highest Attendance: 4107 Vs Kidderminster Harriers in Conference National Play-Off Semi final. Nearly my first full house at the club, play off semi explains the attendance. 1 downside with Nuneaton is they have no decent rivals, which isn't very good in the higher leagues as you have no games to look forward too, apart from Coventry.
Lowest Attendance: 768 Vs Eastwood . FA Trophy 2nd round, explains low attendance.
Highest Gate Receipt:£50,000 vs Wycombe. FA Cup 1st round. More expensive tickets in the FA cup and more than average fans in.
Average Attendance: 1470 - slightly better than last season. Hopefully will further improve after promotion.
Biggest Win: 6-1 at home to Blyth in the league.
Biggest Defeat: 0-4 loss to Premier League Stoke in FA Cup.
Top Goalscorer: Yet again, Fergus Bell with 20 goals. Great player.

We faced recently relegated Kidderminster Harriers, who we'd already beat 3-0 and 3-1 this season. The first leg was away, which we drew 0-0. Everything rested on the home tie, and the team got a great result, winning a highly unexpected 6-1. This set up a tense final vs 4th place Newport County, who we drew 1-1 but also lost 1-0 against this season. This was it ! Promotion rested on this one game. 90 minutes. The winners reaching the heights of the football league and the losers destined to another season in non-league. The game ended 3-1 to Nuneaton. Success was ours! Promotion was ours! Nuneaton Town FC had reached the Football League!
Along with our great league campaign, we again performed admirably in the cups, reaching a good and lucrative 4th round in the FA Cup, eventually losing 4-0 to Premier League Stoke. In the FA Trophy, we reached a decent 3rd round, being knocked out by Corby Town.
So, this season was a successful one. Football league was coming to Liberty Way. Also, at the end of the season, the board had just granted permission to build a brand new 7990 seater stadiums, ready in 2 years time. The future was bright for the underdogs, the minnows, the overachievers. Again Fergus Bell was a prolific force up front for the team, but this season the limelight belonged to Neil McGregor, who amassed an incredible 18 goals, from central defense! He really was a brilliant player and highly recommended to all in the lower leagues! Loanee Tom Bradshaw was also a good signing, although he only played a handful of games and is probably too expensive to permanently buy for most teams. Now, onto League 2 ...

Highest Attendance: 4107 Vs Kidderminster Harriers in Conference National Play-Off Semi final. Nearly my first full house at the club, play off semi explains the attendance. 1 downside with Nuneaton is they have no decent rivals, which isn't very good in the higher leagues as you have no games to look forward too, apart from Coventry.
Lowest Attendance: 768 Vs Eastwood . FA Trophy 2nd round, explains low attendance.
Highest Gate Receipt:£50,000 vs Wycombe. FA Cup 1st round. More expensive tickets in the FA cup and more than average fans in.
Average Attendance: 1470 - slightly better than last season. Hopefully will further improve after promotion.
Biggest Win: 6-1 at home to Blyth in the league.
Biggest Defeat: 0-4 loss to Premier League Stoke in FA Cup.
Top Goalscorer: Yet again, Fergus Bell with 20 goals. Great player.
Most Assists: Paul Willis with 23 assists. A good count on his debut season.
Highest Average Rating: Neil McGregor with a incredible 7.56 in 54 appearances.
Fans Player of the Year: No surprise, Neil McGregor

I haven't posted on here for a while because I've had exams so I apologize for that. Lets start where we finished. If you remember I had just led Nuneaton Town to Promotion into League 2 via the playoffs. The club were now embarking on their very first season in the football league, and with a new stadium due in 2 more seasons the future was looking bright. The season was 2014-2015 and I can again forayed into the free transfer market and loan markets, as the club again had little money, further depleted by the planned stadium.View attachment 253434 Out of these transfers there wasn't really any stand out players, to be honest they were all pretty average. If I had to recommend one of these players then I'd recommend signing Bondz N'Gala, a right back who is quite good for league 2.
Again I decided to play some quite big teams in pre-season such as Newcastle and Aston Villa,as these games greatly improve your funds. Our first ever game in the Npower League 2 was against Barnet away , who if you can remember I don't really have great memories playing against. We drew the game 2-2, so I guess that was a decent start for the pre-season relegation favourites. In our next game, we worked out of the League Cup ( or should I call it the Capital One Cup, could it really sound any more cheap?)at the first stage against Birmingham, however we were only beat on penalties. We got off to a half decent start before winning 6 out of 8 games in and around October. Our form was pretty steady through the season, although we did experience a 7 game winless streak in February/March but then went on a 5 game win streak straight after that. In the FA Cup, the team managed to reach a respectable 4th round, eventually getting beat 2-1 in a replay Vs QPR. We were beginning to become specialists in the cup.
We finished the season in 6th place, amassing 72 points. This meant we were in the play offs. Dagenham and Redbridge were the team which stood between another Wembley appearance and a chance of reaching the highs of League 1, or staying another season in League 2. We had already beat modest expectations for the season, but now had a chance for promotion. This was it. The team went out in the home tie at Liberty Way and lost 3-0. ****. Oh well, the 2nd leg was still to play. Surely the club couldn't possibly turn this around, surely it was impossible. I think Liverpool proved in 2005 that anything is possible in football. My team Middlesbrough, the small team from Teesside reached the Uefa Cup final in 2006, playing the mighty Sevilla in the biggest game the Boro had ever played. And all this after we needed 4 goals against both Steaua Bucharest and FC Basel and managing to achieve it in the last minute with the incredible Massimo Maccorone. Wow, those were the days. Those games were the greatest I have ever went to. And just like the Boro, we knew going into the game that anything was possible. This was our night to make history. Unfortunately, the team did exactly what Boro did and lost 4-2 on aggregate. Oh well. Over the season, the minnows did well however, reaching 6th when you were relegation favourites is surely something to be proud of. Hopefully we can build on this next season and maybe push even more for promotion. Oh yeah, if you are bothered we also reached the pointless Johnstone Paint Trophy South Quarter-final, losing 1-0 to Luton
Onto individuals. I'm guessing by now you know who was top scorer, Fergus Bell yet again scoring 17 overall, 13 in the league. This was the 4th year in a row he achieved this. Super defender Neil McGregor was voted fans player of the season for the 2nd year running, and I highly advise signing these 2 players if your managing at the level of League 2 or below. Only 1 more season to go to until we leave Liberty Way to go to a all new all seater stadium too. The minnows were here to stay!

CSKA Sofia, Bulgaria (my favourite Bulgarian side, I'm from Bulgaria)
2011/12 Bulgarian league; Bulgarian Supercup; Europa league group stage - Bilbao stopped me with late goal from going trough.
2012/13 Bulgarian league (record for points in history - 81 from 30 games, oonly 3 draws and a loss); Bulgarian supercup; Champions league 1st knockout round (in a group with Milan and Real), lost to Sevilla
2013/14 Bulgarian league; Bulgarian cup; Champions league 1st knockout round, lost to Real
Wolves, England
2014/15 Was with them till late November when Real approached me, we were 3rd in Premier league to that moment, doing really well.
Real Madrid, Spain
2014/15 3rd in La liga (mourinho left them at 6th so I couldn't do much); Champions league Final (lost it to City, we played very well and I still wonder how did this happened). Resigned because I was managing the national team and wanted concentrate and take them at the Euro's.
A.C. Milan (my favourite club)
2015/16 3rd in Serie A (up from 7th, Allegri was ****); Champions league semi-final (that was shocking, beating superior United side on the way, still kicked out out from a way better Lyon). Joined in December after we qualified to the Euro's
2016/17 1st in Serie A; Champions League 1/4 final (Bayern destroyed us, we won 3:0 at home but lost 6:2 away, comming back from 5:0 to 5:2, they scored a last minute goal); Italian cup
2017/18 2nd in Serie A (Inter were a tough side to break); Italian cup; Champions league 1st round, lost against Bayern again to see them lift the cup later on.

My windows stopped working and I lost the save.
I know it's not the supercareer like many of the others but I enjoyed it so much because I achieved alot of success with my homeclub and managed to reach to my next favoured club - Milan. I had a very young and talented squad there, maybe 70-80% of the team were promising regens between ages 17 and 23. Also taking my national team to the EURO and the World cup was something special, considering Bulgaria has not qualified for a major tournament since Portugal 2004.
