Best Ball Winning Midfielders?

As Arsenal, i bought Diame for his release clause (3.5m) and play him in CDM position as BWM. He single handedly stopped man city's midfield last night for me.

Was bought as a squad player to add some strength but quickly found a starting place and is now missed when not available. Good buy for his price

Kyriakos Papadopoulos has great attributes for BWM(D). Just bought him for ?8.5m and gonna train him in the MC position. He's already Accomplished, so he shouldn't have much trouble with it.
Dunno about that conversion. I think Phil Jones would make a better BWM/MC. Big Papa tends to foul a lot and his passing and dribbling skills are poor to below average. But it is true he can win just about any ball near him. Still would prefer him at DC.

Sure, I'd prefer Phil Jones too, but signing him to Liverpool would be very difficult, if not impossible. I suppose I can afford it, but I don't want to waste big money on a backup player. I have Sven Bender as first choice for the BWM(D) role, so Papadopoulos is meant as backup. Also, by using the Defend role rather than Support, Papa's task is simply to win the ball and lay it off to other more creative players. And when it comes to winning the ball, there aren't much better than Papa. He will of course also provide cover in the DC position, but I already have Balanta, Sakho and Zouma here. And in my opinion Papa has bigger weaknesses as a DC than a BWM(D), given his low Composure and Decisions.

Just brought Javi Martinez for 55 million and he is worth every penny. He is the best BWM in the game.

In my opinion sven bender is one of the best ball wining midfield an AM and very stable...!!!

Oriol Romeu has been doing a massive job as anchor man in the second season for my Real Sociedad side. He developed so much during his loaning spell at Valencia.

Valon Behrami is doing good for me in Napoli. Not the best, bet pretty good.

Sven Bender for me, have Romero as a back up and he improved a lot after tutoring from Sven, I play Bender in DM with Gundogan acting as a Engange. Team suffers when Bender isn't in it, but his natural fitness is 20 so that isn't a lot.

Even though he plays in a deep role his mental attributes are steller and he scores his fair share too...anywhere I go he's coming with me.

Rode, Bradley, De Jong. Javi Martinez too but I played him as B2B in FM 12 and he was immense averaging out at 8.8 for the season and 3rd top scorer behind Ronaldo and Higuain so he may be wasted as a BWM IMO.

train up Kyriakos Papadopoulos = winning BWM

But watch carefully scout reports!
in my save he is injury prone( maybe he is by default have to check this i am not sure .. )
So i wouldn't dare to sign him in that case.
Too much risky :(
too bad i loved this guy in last season series and at a great price this year , only 8,5m second season ...**** ..

^ He doesn't seem to be injury prone in my save.. 2 years, and other than a couple of minor, minor stuff, no injuries I can think of. He improves on 'Passing' really quickly, if you set training to 'Heavy', so he becomes a monster BWM, much better than either of the Benders or Romero, infact.

He's pretty injury prone, but as long as you have a good rotation option it's not too bad unless you're unlucky and he gets a serious injury. He's still class when he's injury free, and if you can get him cheaply he's definitely worth it.

Totally agree with you mate "IF he is injury free.." after the same mistake i did in last season fm where i had bought wanyama when scouts told me he was injury prone(in my save) i am not gonna do it again no matter how i love big papa...

Thats because he was 70% of the games injured.. plus when i really needed him i couldnt rotate him with my starting bwm..Ended to sell him cheaper just to get rid of him.. so frustrating seeing him into action after a big injury giving his first minutes.. just to see him getting off the pitch again with another 2months injury..!

Guess Wanyama is injury free this year, might try to get him instead and enjoy him more than last year! haha

Yeah I would probably have gotten Wanyama myself this year, but Chelsea picked him up at a time when I wasn't looking for a player of Wanyama's abilities. Now it's too late, he's 27 and on high wages. Will have to make due with Papa and a regen until an even better regen comes along.

fair enough!

Unfortunately Wanyama isnt really viable... saouthampton requests for him about 35m while his value is 13.5m... only valiable solutions are:
Papadopoulos for 12m and diego reyes for around 18m..

Give Javi Garcia a go. Depending on the game, City may be looking to dump him and he plays the role well.
