Best database to start a save?

What leagues/database size/players would you guys recommend to ensure there are plenty of players but also that the game runs fast?

I loaded all the main leagues with a couple of smallers ones, most only the top division except England, with a large database and I got a 2* game speed rating. Is there any way I can maintain a similar database size with approx 60,000 players without the game being so slow? I know view only is an option but i heard that a lot of the players aren't available, only top reputation players...

Hey mate, I use large database down to league 1 in England, for Spain, Italy, France, Germany I only have the top division playable, and I also have the top divisions in Argentina and Brazil view only.

its gives you roughly 31000 players

I have a MacBook that's a few years old and it seems to run it fine and quick
