It's very rare you score from free-kicks in the game for me anyway.
Who is the best player on FM 16 in your opinion

Depends on a few things really. I had a terrific regen GK who had 16 frees and from reading on here, I trained him to Rifle free kicks in and he started scoring more consistently reaching 12 league goals in a season.

I think the key stats are obviously Free Kicks and the traits such as rifles free kicks and shoots from distance help.

As for best players? Couldn't tell ya that's what I use the Attributes in Player Search for...Robbie Brady scored a fair few for me in a save
 
Alex Pritchard is a good freekick-taker. Think he has a rating of 18
 
Lewis Baker - Chelsea kid. Great at pens & corners too.
