I spent my redundancy money from my previous job on an iMac, with the added memory options to the max. I told myself I needed this extra power so I could work from home - but we all know that it was really so that I could run as many FM leagues as possible!
Argentina (Prem & 2nd League); Australia (Hyundai League); Belgium (Pro & 2nd); Brazil (1st, 2nd & State Championships); England (down to and including Skrill North & South); France (Ligue 1, 2 and National); Germany (Bundesliga 1, 2 & 3); Holland (Eredivisie & Jupiler); Italy (Serie A, B & C1); Portugal (Prem & 2nd); Russia (Prem & 1st); Scotland (Prem, Champ, 1st & 2nd); Spain (LIGA BBVA & Liga Adelante); Sweden (Allsvenskan & Superettan); USA (MLS); Ukraine (Prem & 1st).
Customised database, as big as I could without getting warnings about a slow running game. The estimated game speed is listed as only 1.5 stars, but it's a powerful computer and has never crashed in-game, and it processes the results of matches across my FM universe quite quickly. The graphics capability is rated 5 stars and the matches themselves look the business - just some occasional minor juddering, when I run other programmes in the background like iTunes or BBC iPlayer through the internet.
If I had intended to start in the English lower leagues, I would have done away with some of the lower divisions from around the world in favour of the top divisions from Norway and Denmark, where you're more likely to be able to obtain players on loan or permanent transfers.
