I played Rooney as Target Man - Support today for the 1st time ever and he scored 5 in 5 and made 3 assists.... that is definately his new position for me

To be fair its always going to depend on the tactic, players around him and their roles too

To be fair I play all of my Strikers as Complete Forwards and all of my CM's as Box to Box midfielders as these two roles are calculated over 18-20 attributes whereas nearly all the other roles are calculated over just 10 attributes.
So you will never find any player on FM whose best role is either Complete Forward or Box to Box midfilder but these roles conbine all of the other roles for that position giving you a much better all round player.

he is far more consistent in terms of goals but doesnt link up with the play like he would in real life.

yes I would use him as a box to box and also re-train him as a right-back as his stats will make him one of the best full-backs on FM.

yes I would use him in the middle but also as my reserve right back as there is a major shortage of world class full backs on FM.

defintely for me is hernadez, first season is crazy
while second season, he have a injury for 1 months hence his form drops but still wow.

right now, third season and more powerful then ever

I have Gabby Agbonlahor as a poacher in my first season at villa but he doesnt do that well.nVery inconsistent
Is this the best suitable role for him? Or could anyone suggest either a new role or training programme to make him better?
