When I say "bluff" im referring to those playes who despite having a lot of potencial, never fulfill the expectations around them.
To me, some of the biggest bluffs in football are:
1. Recoba: he was one time the highest paid player in football, but in Inter he never was a determinant player.
2. Denilson: Betis paid 30 million Euros for him. In return, he was a average player.
3. Kezman: in PSV he was a machine, scoring goals with ease, but in Chelsea an Atlético Madrid...Not.
4. Palermo: only in Boca Juniors he play well...his experience in Spain was terrible.
I think other players are Cassano, Robinho, Anelka, and Adriano, although all of them have had at least a good couple of seasons at a high level.
In Football Manager, the biggest bluff I remember is Alexander Farnerud. Back in CM4 he was a complete whizkid so in every new game I played he was my first signing, but in real life he was only a average to mediocre player.
