not much can get better though with Platini waiting in the wings. Can only hope this break-away idea comes to fruitition. Don't how it would work legally though. Be interesting to see what happens

Triesman allegations against Teixeira & Makudi rejected and will not be further investigated by FIFA.

JACK WARNER HITS BACK AT FIFA

Jack Warner has unleashed his threatened "tsunami" on FIFA with allegations about the organisation's president Sepp Blatter - and that FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke suggested the 2022 World Cup was "bought".

Warner claimed Blatter made gifts of computers to officials plus an unauthorised 1million US dollar gift to his confederation CONCACAF.

Caribbean football chief Warner, banned by FIFA's ethics committee along with Asian confederation president Mohamed Bin Hammam pending the outcome of a full inquiry into allegations they paid officials 40,000 dollars each in bribes, denied making any payments.

Warner said in a statement: "I denied the allegations that I made statements at the CFU [Caribbean Football Union] meeting about gifts being given by Mr Bin Hammam.

"I also indicated that at the Miami CONCACAF Congress on May 3 Mr Blatter made a gift of one million USD to CONCACAF to spend as it deems fit.

"This annoyed [UEFA] President Michel Platini who was present and he approached Secretary General Jerome Valcke complaining that Mr Blatter had no permission from the Finance Committee to make this gift to which Jerome replied that he will find the money for Mr Blatter.

"I also indicated at the CFU meeting held in Trinidad on May 10 which was requested by Mr Bin Hammam, FIFA through Mr Blatter organised gifts of laptops and projectors to all members of the Caribbean and no objections have been made today of this to date."

Warner said 13 federations had written to the ethics committee backing him up.

Warner's apparent revelation of an email from Valcke about Bin Hammam running against Blatter for FIFA president is potentially even more explosive.

Valcke, according to Warner's statement, wrote to him suggesting that Qatari Bin Hammam had "bought" the 2022 World Cup for his country.

Warner added: "I wrote Valcke telling him, among other things, that the outcome of the elections may cause some fracture in the Arab world which we can ill-afford now and that I will like to ask Bin Hammam to withdraw from the race.

"To which Jerome replied to me and I quote: 'For MBH, I never understood why he was running. If really he thought he had a chance or just being an extreme way to express how much he does not like anymore JSB [Blatter]. Or he thought you can buy FIFA as they bought the WC'."

Warner reiterated his claim that the complaints against him were part of a conspiracy.

He added: "The complaints made in this matter are politically motivated against Mr Bin Hammam and me and are designed, among other things, to cause serious prejudice and damage to both Mr Bin Hammam and myself at one of the most critical times for the FIFA."

Bin Hammam insisted that he should not have been suspended and claimed Valcke had influenced the supposedly independent ethics committee.

He said: "The ethics committee in its meeting today did not find this evidence sufficient to convict me. Consequently, I should have been given the benefit of doubt but instead, I have been banned from all football activities.

"I have been given the impression that the ethics committee is absolutely an independent committee, but in the press conference we have seen today, the General Secretary made clear that he is the one who has the influence in this Committee."

Bin Hammam withdrew from the FIFA presidential election on Sunday and Valcke announced that the election, with Blatter as the only candidate, will take place as scheduled on Wednesday.

Although i dont like Blatter and think the whole of Fifa needs a re-vamp this says alot about Bin Hammamm. One day he is running against Blatter and as soon as they launch an investigation against him he pulls out?? Coincidence maybe?? They are all corrupt and Fifa should be ran by former international greats of the game not men in suites. Imagine having someone like Bobby Charlton repusenting England or someone like Shaka Hislop insted of Jack Warner?? These men are former players and know the game better than these clowns (yes i am aware Blatter and Platini used to play but they are outdated) and they will make decisions based on whats best for the game not themselfs.

And I thought houses of cards were unstable. Well, the fuse has been lit now safe to say. And by the looks of it, I suspect there's going to be some more explosive stuff to come out. And I don't even think anyone in FIFA will be able to stop the consequences of it. This is going to be a long runner

Or someone like Marad... better not.

NO BIN HAMMAM! Does this mean he is losing his place as AFC President? I hope not, he's done wonders for Asian football.

Bin Hamman pulled out of the race because a)he is connected to the bribery for the Qatar World Cup and doesn't want it to come to light (probably because Blatter and company told him he/the other people involved would be exonnerated if he pulled out of the race or b)Blatter somehow got him to stop running so Blatter could stay in power. Either way, FIFA is really, really corrupt. Did anyone mention that yet?

More of a coincidence that Blatter suddenly comes up with evidence to suggest Bin Hammam is corrupt just a week before the election where he's the only other candidate.

Re: former players - that's not exactly worked out has it? Platini and Blatter both, as you say, former footballers. Bobby Charlton is even more "outdated" and other than being a bit of a joker, Shaka Hislop is hardly an International Great - making only 26 apps for Trinidad and Tobago.

"He's done wonders for Asian football" [...] via mass corruption and bribery.

No thanks.

Well Blatter did it...

This wouldn't surprise me one bit. I'm sure there is evidence of corruption with MBH, but Blatter and co. may well have exaggerated and/or fabricated more evidence than there actually is. A week before the election it's more than just a coincidence that evidence has suddenly become available.

Bin Hammam withdrew from the FIFA presidential election on Sunday and Valcke announced that the election, with Blatter as the only candidate, will take place as scheduled on Wednesday.

Well we're ******, then. Blatter the only candidate so the only possible way he won't get in is if every one boycotts it - which won't happen because they're all on his pay-roll.

I just looked up Blatter, and what he's done for football since his first election victory:

****** all, essentially. One thing that was later scrapped (Silver Goal), the stupid rule about players being booked for taking their shirts off when scoring a goal (of course this doesn't apply to after the game :/), the immediate suspension rule with the English FA refused to back and a rule about the height at which football matches are allowed to be played.

It still amuses me that England are shouting about corruption but when Celtic fans say it about the SFA we are being bitter. Just man up, you lost the world cup dont be bitter about it :S

with respect, its nothing to do with losing out on the World Cup. It's the corrupt parasites within FIFA that are truly ******* me off, and its not just England shouting about it. We can't just sit back and let those bastards destroy the sport we love. I mean come on. Blatter won't bring in goal line technology, but would love to make female officials wear tiny tight shorts. He's done sweet sod all for football. So for me, if we lost out on the world cup FAIRLY, I wouldn't care less. But it wasn't done fairly simple as. It's nothing more than corrupt politics in sport. And it makes me sick to my stomach that it's destroying football.
