Birmingham 1st season, NEED ALL KIND OF PLAYERS!

As you might understand, I'm managing Birmingham City, they play in nPower Championship (if you didn't know).

Their squad is pretty small and I need quality players in many posetions. Most importanly leftback, defensive midfielder, central midfielder, right wing and a striker.

Lets see, I'm norwegian, so I'm using kroner. 30 million kroner is about 3 million punds

LB: Try Pierre Wome or Timothee Atouba. Both free transfers. Never managed to get either before, but both have gone to Championship teams on my game and both have done excellent. Ryan Bertrand from Chelsea on loan would be another good option. Wayne Bridge might also join on loan due to you having European football.

DM: Mahamadou Diarra is on a free, as is Richard Hughes.

MC: If you can get him, then Maniche on a free transfer would be amazing! Might be tempted because of European football. Otherwise raid Arsenal's reserve team for a loan signing. Frimpong would do a good job. Also check out Man Utd's and Man City's reserves.

RM: I'd suggest Matt Ritchie from Swindon. Although not a natural right winger, he retrains really quickly and is amazing at cutting inside and scoring spectacular long range efforts. El Hadji Diouf goes to Championship sides too. Available on a free, and can do a good job. Never signed him myself though, as I personally hate him as a person! But always seems to do well on FM.

Striker: I'd suggest Lee Novak (20-40k Huddersfield) and Pablo Counago (free) to add depth to your strike force. Novak may not be ready for the Championship until second season, but just seems to get better and better for me. But your main striker has to be Marlon Harewood (available for around 250k straight away, or can be pinched on a Bosman free transfer on Jan 1st 2012).

Other options (if you want to splash a bit of cash...)

Striker would be Darwin Quintero from Santos Laguna. Available for about £1.5m. Really good, pacy striker. Happy to go to the bigger Championship clubs.

A good DM is Lorik Cana. He's available for about £2m. Kara at FC Tromso also does a good job. He's a DMC \ DC.

Thanks alot! I ended up with buying Darwin Quintero, he is a beast! I also loaned Ryan Bertrend, good stats and a youngster, always nice. Maniche wasn't very interested to join my club, but i loaned Frimpong and I am currently trying to sign Kara, he is just too good! But I'm competing with many other better clubs, so I don't think he is going to choose Birmingham. And of course Harewood

most of the suggestions are already said, just for me to add 2 poachers.
Try searching for victor simoes(sp), Agustin torassa. they're both quality at championship and you will get them for about 200k each.

get leigh griffithe in winter break(10 january) after his loan is finnished. he`s a left footed striker and a real beast. scored for me 40 goals in championship(derby county). also search cardacio(excelent central midfielder-free transfer at the beggining), leandro gioda(defender, 25 goals from corners), yann sommer(gk-2,6 million euros) or thuram(goalkeeper-700k).also as a right defender you can ger hinkel or parnaby(free transfers)

I grabbed a couple of pacey forwards/wingers for £1.6m for both and they are a great bargain!!! :

1) Dominique Malonga : 600k Sevilla, good pace, accel, finishing and composure.
2) Sidney Sam : 950k MUST BUY: accel, agility, flair ;18 finishing long shots and pace ;17

Should both be willing to join a Championship club

Keep Ridgewell LB, Put N'daw Defensive Mid, Use Elliot as Right winger, As for ST you have Zigic, Rooney, King, Lambert (Macheda) Thats good enough IMO.
