After the unexpected departure of alex mcleash the Blues have appointed rookie english manager tom whitson. whitson made a statement this morning saying his aim is to have birmingham City in Europe as soon as possible. tom also added he sees relegation still a possibility this season after being predicted to finish 18th.

whitson has also stated his aims to bring an attractive attacking style of football to st andrews, and hopes this new air of optimism well help fill the 29000 seater.

As the players take to pre-season training there is uncertainty surrounding who will be on their way and whose on their way out, but only time will tell as the manager will not talk about the matter of yet.
