THE LIDODA DUVHA STORY

The club was established in 1983 through the initiatives of various business people of Venda. The club is based in the far north of the Limpopo province in Thohoyandou.

In 1998 it was taken over by the Thidiela family. After just two seasons of campaigning in the first division Black Leopards was promoted to the elite premiere league.

After being relegated from the Premier Soccer League (PSL) at the end of last season Black Leopards are looking for an immediate return to the elite league.

Given the task of this job is Joseph Devine a Irish ex pro footballer who played in South Africa during the 1980's who applied for the job as a longing to move back to the African way of life..

After happily excepting the job, Joseph turned up for training to find a playing staff of 12. With a small wage and transfer budget he went about signing bargin free transfers to beef up the squad. With two reliable scouts he was able to bring in quality unattached players willing to work hard and earn promotion straight after being relegated.

The honours available to the Black Leopards this year are as follows;

 • South African First Division Inland
(minimum expectation to achieve a respectable position in the league)

 • South African FA Cup
(minimum expectation to reach the 3rd round)

 • South African First Division Cup
(the board do not see this as a priority and you will be judged on the other competetions)

After bringing in 23 players with 7 current international players Joseph set them through a gruelling 13 match pre season.

As the first day of the season approached Joseph looked over his squad doing a light session and thought that this could be the beginning of a delightful journey from the depths of African football....

A game the Leopards were expected to win yet they failed to live up to expectations. Thankfully that cup was only a “Mickey mouse” cup

The month ended with a defeat but two good wins under the Leopards belt has gelled the players together. Player of the Month was Aubury Ngoma with four assists in three matches.
