BREAKING NEWS: Blackpool sack under-pressure Holloway and replace him with virtual unknown Sunday-league footballer Matthew Timms

Timms had this to say on his appointment: 'As soon as i knew the job was available i just had to apply, the board seemed happy with my credentials i've mastermined Duff Mivers FC to 5 consecutive Sunday-league titles on a shoestring budget and hope i can reproduce this success with Blackpool'.

Although fans seem upset and bemused at this appointment the board have assured fans Timms is the right man for the job.

As soon as he entered the managers office Timms was immediately throwing his weight around making some big decisions straight away getting on the dog and bone to his old pal Sol Campbell over a possible move out of exile to join his Blackpool revolution.

Timms has made the following players his potential transfer targets:

Sol Campbell (Free Agent)
Jamel Art Ben Idir (Harve AC)
Darren Gibson (Man Utd Loan)
Federicho Macheda (Man Utd Loan)

So the next chapter in Blackpools' history has begun under the stewardship of manager Matthew Timms, lets see if he can silence his critics and see just how far the seasiders can fly!

Good luck mate, I got Blackpool into the EPL in 2 seasons, Charlie Adam is immense and Simeon Jackson is a must buy for £700k, scored 34 goals the 2nd season and also Marlon King on a free is classs :D Good luck.

I have a female physio though, i'm scared what he might do to her if he gets injured :'(

Yeah Blackpool are my Championship bogey team aswell :'( And lol at the female physio thing :P

Haha thought you'd like it, any advice on tactics to play with Blackpool?

Ok cheers for the advice, was just wondering if you had any tactial advice max?

Manager Matthew Timms has definately shaken things up a bit bringing in numerous new faces to bolster his some what weak squad, this has include a number of loan signings, a couple of players on free transfers and paid money for one individual:

Major Signings:
- Alex Smithies (£1.1million from Huddersfield)
- Marlon King (Free)
- Michael Ball (Free)
- Darron Gibson (Loan)

Major Outs:
- Stephen Crainey £250k
- Ben Burgess £400k
- Alex John-Baptiste £500k

Happy that my sales have totalled more than my spend, trying to balance the books as Blackpool aren't the wealthiest club!

Pre-season:

Mixed bag in pre-season, disappointed to lose to Bristol Rovers but other than that very positive!

Great away win, beyond all expectations, 7 different scorers and a lot of my new signings getting on the score sheet as well, obviously there will be tougher opposition than Mansfield but it shows we can take our chances.

Cracking result, beating Birmingham 4-1 at home a current Premier League team, went 1-0 down but didnt get our heads down and give in we went up the other end and grabbed 4! Maybe we can mix it with the big boys but we know not to get carried away!

So, some good signings and interesting pre-season results have given manager Matthew Timms lots of reasons to be optimistic about the new season ahead, first game of the season is away against QPR, that will be the first real test of Timms and his Blackpool side.

your layout is nice, its almost in your face which is good, good start hope you do well

cheers mate, glad you like the layout tried to go for something different :)

i've always liked blackpool's jersey cos its pretty nice imo. good luck ;)

After his first month in charge Blackpool manager Matthew Timms has declared himself 'content' with how the team has been performing in the league so far and has provide you with this first league update:

Happy with a point from this one, not an easy away fixture, had the majority of the possession just didn't take any of our chances, disappointed not to take all 3pts.

Somebody tell me how we ended up with this humiliating scoreline?! Dominated the game the stats say it all, levellep almost immediately after going 1-0 down and then lost concentration on the last 10mins which you cannot do at this level.

First win of the season against a team i would expect us to beat if we are going to stay up and maybe even achieve our mid table aim, we once again dominated the game the stats don't lie we just need to be a bit more clinical infront of goal.

Not really sure whether i'm happy with a point or disappointed not to take the 3 from this one, Watford aren't a great side, will have to see how significant this result will be come the end of the season.

Great win, 3-0 at home to Coventry another side i would expect us to beat, Michael Mifsud has been a great signing and he managed to bag 2 against one of his former clubs, the less said about Marlon King's current form the better...

King has probably been too busy sorting out his personal life and on the phone to his agent about his contract with the prison football team which includes 'shower bonuses'...

At home i use 'Complete Dominance' and away from home i use a tactic i created, would you like screenshots?

Great to see someone doing a Pool story! My advice would be mainly not to play Euell because his legs give out half way through October and you'll get nothing from him for the rest of the season.

If you're looking for tactics, I've found playing Taylor-Fletcher and Bouazza as wingers instead of widemen hinders more than it helps, as having two solid banks of four is a massive aid. Also, Keith Southern is a massive player for Blackpool on FM.

Cheers for the advice mate, with the tactis i'm using wingers have become redundant and i'm relying more on central players so taylor-fletcher got sold i'm afraid. Keith Southern is doing a job at DMC atm with Tom Soares (on loan from stoke) and darren gibson sat infront of him

Fair enough. How much did you let Taylor-Fletcher go for? Because second season on my other Pool game on main computer and Middlesborough and Newcastle are sniffing for him for about 5 million.

Also, as was said before, Simeon Jackson is a top signing, but try and get John Sutton as well. Scores bucketloads of goals in the Championship
