Martin Hmara: 26 year old lad is in hot form and helped us win the first game in Premier League against Everton. Scored 4 goals in competitive matches in August. He is valued much higher than in Championship. Our team value has skyrocketed. We are 15th in the league. Hoping to hold momentum and get some good results. Cup games are not important but every league game is like a final and we have 34 more finals to play this season. I have strong belief that we will manage not to get relegated. First four games shows that we are lacking in defense some quality. Youngsters have to improve through the season and older players like team captain Terry are not meant for this high standard league. It is unfortunate but in the future when we will have a bigger budget we need to change some players. At the moment we are doing our best to finish Blyth Spartans record signing before the end of the transfer period (it ends 2nd of September 2030). It is likely that he signs but there are big interest from other Premier League teams. More about if we manage to sign him or not next on the month month overview. Below info about how team value increased.
Martin Hmara: Omari is a vital part of our team and without him it is hard to believe we could get some decent results. Grateful for his performance agains Manchester City first huge scalp we got from Premier League.
But we must improve 3 red cards in 3 Premier League games is more than enough. It is my approach and I changed it a bit for less aggressive tactics. Hopefully we can avoid red cards and keep fighting to stay up this season.
Huge record signing from Bristol City. We got a perfect Englishman James Palmer for RB position and payed astounding 13,5M £ for him. This took every penny and even more from our finances, but I can assure you this that it is well calculated cost and will pay back well in the future. He will be a big star player for us and if all goes well even in Premier League and in World.
Financially we are suffering, but I have faith that with TV money we get out of that slope really quickly. You can see from the news that Blyth are spending only 400k £ per week on salaries. That is the strongest part of our financial target to get back in track, because we can not compete with other teams in the league and if we manage to keep salaries on reasonable level and stay in Premier League next season will be already much easier.
Martin Hmara: Our main goalkeeper Long did a fantastic game against Manchester United. We played one of the worst games in the season and MANU dominated and created hundreds of great chances but this lad just did one superb save after another and kept scoreline only 2 conceded goals. That was thrilling performance and although we lost and defense played super poorly it was Stephens best game of his career. But other good news are these that we won against Nottm Forest and this keeps us safe from relegation zone. And our finances moved to positive side and they should be going strong by the end of the season if I do not mess it up on next transfer period. But on negative side I would like to point out board takeover has been hinted and discussed already several seasons but nothing happens. I guess this is the new reality and personally I think it is due to the huge increase of the club value in less than last 2 seasons.
BLYTH
fanbase is growing (thank you for your support gritzmacher10) and I believe soon new wonderful stadium will be built near the sea that will be future landmark of Blyth, Northumberland
Martin Hmara: Most valuable player for us in my opinion. It doesnt matter who against we play he performs almost always well. This time there was competition and Belarussian Rodion Sakuta was second option, but he failed badly in several games. In some games sparkled and scored goals but overall he was just much worse than our super star Forson. Omari estimated value is 21-23 Million £ and he holds with that 9th place in the team for most valuable player statistic overview. These 2 months went very well and I can not see us going to be relegated. Of course half of the season still waits a head of us, but I strongly believe that Blyth Spartans can go only better not the other way. Relegation zone is 10 points away and I want to increase that gap even more.
Looking forward for the transfer period that starts. Our transfer budget is slim to 0, but as I calculated TV money is doing a good job for our finances and we are 14 Million in + side. Therefore I hope the board agrees with my request to increase the transfer budget. If this is not going to happen then I will do my best to sell some players. And use that money to improve our defense and other areas that could need improvement. Also putting all my scouts looking for free transfers (contracts that will expire in 6 months time). Club chairman decided not to leave. Club value set new new record 331 Million £. I hope that club board will do reasonable decision and clear the debt now that we have 14 million available.
Martin Hmara: I tried actively to strengthen our squad and sell some players. Sakuta record fee 8M £ was necessary to get money for other transfers. Vaca was not developing and performed also quite poorly. What surprised me was that Bolivar bought him back for 3,8M £, we purchased him less than 2 seasons ago from the same club for 400K £. We also sold our team captain Frankie Terry. Really special lad and truly great person helped us to get back to back promotions from League 1 to Premier League. But just his standard is not good enough for highest tier English football. League One club Plymouth got him for 650K £. Already he had 10 league games and he is doing well.
Martin Hmara: We got a big offer for our star player in February. He will join 11.06.2025 Saudi side Shabab Al-Ahli. That means he will play until the end of the season with us. Big blow but wish him good career in Saudi.
Martin Hmara: I take the blame that we failed with our winter transfers. Lets say that I was not aware of the fact that we can sign on 6 U-21 players per season. This is the reason we failed to get 2 fantastic youngsters to join us. Now it clearly means that in the future we have to have a good strategy in the club who to take from younger players. They need to be really good just solid or possible future prospects are not worth signing because of this rule. Anyway players we managed to get from the market have not made an impact and this played a role in our results. 1 good news! We managed to get approval from the board to increase transfer revenue percent to 100%. But they refused to increase transfer budget. Looking already next transfer period and together with our scouting team and director of football we do a shortlist and clear plan for summer.
Firstly thank you Leckuno for constant support! This gives more energy and motivation to continue the story!
FIXTURES 2031 JANUARY - FEBRUARY
Martin Hmara: In the last post I already briefly commented that transfer period was well below par. We lost some good players and players who I decided to replace them with did not perform and therefore we suffered with bad results. Blyth Spartans made it to League Cup final. This is amazing achievement. Yeah in the final itself we were crushed 4:0 by Chelsea, but still this cup campaign can be called true success.
Last game in February we were kicked out of FA Cup as well with Fifth round game against Nottingham Forest. We lost with penalties.
But lets bring out another astonishing result. We defeated Liverpool in Premier League. And we got 2 more very valuable wins against West B Albion and Fulham. This keeps us quite safe from the relegation zone.
We have already made a reasonable plan for next season targets and transfer period will be busy. I am not pleased with our defense and after Omari Forson leaves in June we need someone to replace him and bring our game 1 level higher. Financially we are doing really well 31 Million in our balance and it is moving steadily up.
Martin Hmara: Nicolas Romero is showing superb results in training sessions and I would say that in January and February he finally started to score on more consistently. He is at the moment a good Premier League player and if he continues to improve same level as recently then he could turn out to be World Class striker. He is valued 56 - 76 Million £ and I will not sell him for less. Not planning to sell him anyway, would like to build the club foundation on him. He has 1 cap for the Urugay team and plenty of more will come. Next season I want focus from him and at least 20 goals from the Premier League.
Club value hit another record with 417 Million £
GREEN ARMY CONTINUES IT MARCH TOWARDS PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE
Martin Hmara: Omari Forson is a legend of this club in my opinion. But Blyth Spartans aims are even higher than mid table finish and this is the reason we sold him. Thankful that he kept performing scoring and assisting and doing all for the club. True professional. We managed to get clear from relegation battle and currently before the last 3 games Blyth is standing crazy high 13th position. I was dreaming not to get relegated and building team for the future and it happened. Our training facilities hit the maximum level State of Art. This is another huge boost, because most of our team are teenagers or very young lads and best training facilities help to improve skills much faster than average ones. So to sum it up all things are going very well. Luke Rumble was nominated 3rd best young prospects in the world and Aljaz Mörec 25th. This is a huge boost and shows that youngsters we have managed to sign are world class standard.
Club value hit another record from March 417 Million £ to 458 Million £ in May
