Board doesn't want a parent club

I am playing as Crawley Town and I am in the N-Power League Two 2nd season.
Every time I ask for a link to be made with a bigger club, they say they don't want to. Why does this happen?

If you have like 2 or 3, that's too many and they won't let you have anymore

Some clubs owners are like that.The same thing happens to me with Athlone Town

thats prety unfortunate, parent clubs are great for lower league teams.
