It's probably because of FMRTE.

can't re-name the stadiums with FMRTE, when you do they just change back to original name the following day

It's probably because of FMRTE.

It'll probably be named after the manager -- teams almost always name their new stadiums after you if you're successful.

Though the player would probably have retired by 2017 so it might be named after him.

really could have gone in here. Be successful and keep your finances good and eventually you should be taken over.
