Roberto Di Matteo Walks Out On WBA!

Sky Sports can break the news to you that Roberto Di Matteo has sensationally walked out on West Bromwich Albion earlier today. At the minute the reason for his departure has caused some debate but we hope to have statements from both WBA and Roberto Di Matteo in the next few minutes.

Roberto turned his back on WBA after just a short period at the club

We can now bring you a statement from both the chairman and Di Matteo's agent!

Di Matteo's agent

First of all Roberto is very disappointed at what was happened today but stresses that he had no other choice given the position he was put in. Roberto does not want to go in to detail about what caused these actions to be taken. However he has said it was due to the fact that he and the chairman had different opinions on a certain topic. He would also like to say sorry to the WBA fans and wishes his successor all the best.

Jeremy Peace (Chairman)

Firstly I am very disappointed that we have lost a manger of Roberto's quality and wish him all the best for his future. The circumstances that lead to Roberto's departure where as follows. West Ham Utd had made an offer of around 10 million for Graham Dorrans and both myself and the club director thought that this offer was far to great for a championship side to turn down and proposed to Roberto that we where strongly considering accepting the offer and Roberto took offensive to this has he believes he should have final say on any transfer activity and he felt that this is the way thongs would have continued. We understand where Roberto was coming from and can understand his decision to move on. I also wish to mention at this point that West Ham Utd have since withdrawn their offer for Dorrans as the transfer has been so controversial. We as a club must also move on and find a new young exciting manager that is going to take us back to the top flight. We will hope to announce Roberto's successor in the next couple of weeks.

WBA Announce Unknown Manager

West Bromwich Albion have took a bold risk by appointing a rookie manager with no previous managerial experience as the man they wish to take the club forward. The WBA faithful are said to be less than impressed with Jeremy Peace and the WBA board. The feeling among the fans is they would have preferred to see a more experienced manager like Mark Hughes take charge at the club.

The WBA fans are less tham impressed with the appointment

Managers Statement

I am delighted that I have been given the opportunity to work with a great bunch of players and I am fully confident that we can bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt. I can understand the fans frustration but I hope they can get behind me and I hope to be around for a long successful time.

Chairman Statement

We are all over the moon to have secured the signature of such a young manager and hope that we can have a long successful spell under him. If he can take the attitude he showed as a player we are sure we have a top class manager on our books. I hope all the fans will give him a chance and we will look at the situation again after the season as it is only a one year contract. Thanks to all the fans for patience.

Season Review

We will play in the Coca Cola Championship this year and we will look to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt. At a minimum the board expected promotion back to the premier league. Therefore I told the board that I thought the team would achieve promotion and so they gave me a transfer fund of 2.3 Million .

Club Captains

This year the captain of West Bromwich Albion will be Scottish midfielder Graham Dorrans and his vice is Scott Carson

Formation and Tactics

I will be using my own basic 4-1-2-2-1 tactic that I created myself.
