Fan of oil-rich Bolton Wanderers are wondering if there club really has the funds promised by the new board.

The fans found out Ross Clarke's first signing was Dutch winger Ibrahim Afellay from Spanish giants Barcelona, so far so good? But then the transfer was announced, it was a mere £1.7million which the old Bolton board could have easily afforded. This has casts doubts in the mind of many fans, with some thinking it is all talk from their new Russian owner and have challenged him to put his money where his mouth is and give boss Ross Clarke a £1billion warchest, as promised.

Manager Ross Clarke moved quickly to defend his new signing saying this about the clubs budget and the signing of 25 year old Afellay:

"I am sure you all agree he (Ibrahim Afellay) is a quality player and possibly one of the best to ever appear at Bolton, this is proved by him playing at Barcelona and earning 36 caps for his country at the tender age of 25. I would like to reassure you all money is available to me but I will spend what ever I consider necessary and not throw money around like Manchester City for example."

Bolton Wanderers have shown the world their financial muscle by spending a staggering £192million on just 5 players, all of witch household names.

But Bolton fans are never happy and are criticizing boss Ross Clarke for overspending and has forced the manager to release the following statement:

"I have been given funds by the board and I am very grateful for them and am using them responsibly so I ask for the support of the fans of this football club while we reshape it into one of the best in the world."

25 year old Brazilian star Hulk was the first to join the revolution at Bolton when the striker arrived from Portuguese giants F.C Porto for around £30million. The deal alerted the whole football world and shown that Bolton really do mean business. Hulk was followed by another £30million signing, Phillip Lahm who arrived from Bayern Munich and is set to be the clubs 1st choice right back.

Asif that wasn't enough Ross Clarke signed 3 players from the Premier League. Those being Welsh sensation Gareth Bale, Bale's team mate Luka Modric and defensive midfielder Marouane Fellaini costing a combined £132million.
