Seeing as my other story is a joint one, I thought I would make my own story. It is going to be very different in that it isn't mainly about the football, but outside of it. Some of you may like it, some may not, but I recommend reading a couple of Chapters to see if you do like it.

For those of you who followed "Slaying the Dragons -- The English Youth Academy", and enjoyed my Spanish Man updates, this is going to be Spanish Man, but taken in more detail, so if you liked that, you'll love this. That's pretty much the reason I am writing this story. I really enjoyed writing about him, and everyone loved him, so why not make a similar story?

I will be carrying on with my Leroy Trajont story as that is a joint story, and here goes. :)

PROLOGUE

During World War One, Montenegran pacifist civilians set up a Football Club, as a way to distract and disrupt Ottoman troops from their task. This Football Club was very near the Ottoman border, and thus was in the thick of the action. Many of the most useful members of the club were children and teenagers. Some worked as scouts and recruiters. Others befriended homesick Ottoman soldiers, slowly bringing them into the club.

A French spy named Mathieu Partizen worked with this Football Club for three years, with the Montenegran children. Partizen was told to leave by the French forces and he returned to France after World War One, and reluctantly, he left Montenegro and returned to his home, on the French German border.

As World War Two broke out, Partizen had retired from the French Secret Service. Mathieu used what he’d learned in Montenegro, and trained twenty young French boys to work and play for a football club. The name for his Football Club was to be Prevessin-Moens FC, and played on the French German border.

Partizen died in 1951, only a few years after his Football Club was created, but the club has earned its status as a Semi-Professional Club. Despite not being anywhere near the upper echelon of French football, Prevessin-Moens FC have always treated youth with far more respect than the Transfer Market. And now the club was sitting in the fourth tier of French football, CFA Groupe C.

The club that sat on the French German border had been known to have one of the most prolific youth academies in France, despite the club’s low position in French football. But corruption had struck the club, and there was now a catch to sign a Semi-Pro Contract with the club. Nobody outside of the club knew about this catch and anybody trying to tell outsiders the secret has been killed.

Anyway, good luck with this story and which database did you use to get the French lower leagues?

I don't think you need one for CFA, do you?

It's still going.

I thought I'd start another one as loads of people enjoyed my Spanish man updates in the Dragon Slayers story.

I have to say I think this is a fantastic idea.
A great change from the norm and this looks like it will be even more interesting thanyour others.
And I like the link to the world war as I have a particular interest in that subject.
Excited to learn more.

I've already written it; so once a few people have read the Prologue, and commented, then I'll post it up.

Looks very good, I did not know about that club! People always go on about their club's history and how great they used to be and all this, THAT is a rich history! Good luck, I'm certainly following!

Someone is egotistic ;)

Interesting first read though, I am interested to see where you go with it.

Chapter 1 – English

English seemed the biggest waste of time. Not only was everyone on the border fluent in both French and German, but it was a hot sweaty summer’s day at Terzon College. The teacher, Ms. Wrankle, was extremely unpleasant and Tomas Lemoigne had always hated both her, and English. Tomas had nicknamed her The Wrank.

It was the penultimate lesson of the day, but Tomas was sticky, tired and bored. Taking notes on English slang was not his idea of fun and he had regretted staying on at school ever since he had the option to leave at the end of Year 11. He had only stayed on at school for his father, but day-by-day, he began to regret it more and more.

Sat next to him was teacher’s pet and star pupil Erik Starman. His constant ramblings of Starman by name, Starman by nature had driven Tomas to the brink, and sitting next to Erik in both English and Geography had been a total nightmare for the whole of this year.

Tomas heard a muffled voice, but was too tired to make out whose it was.

“Tomas, what’s the answer?”
“What? I’m not sure miss.”

At that split second, Erik’s hand shot into the air like his life depended on it. The Wrank pounced on the opportunity to ask her pet a question, and obliged immediately. As expected, Erik answered right and gave a smug glance in the direction of Tomas. Starman by name, Starman b…

Tomas launched into Erik. Toppling both of their chairs, Tomas was on top and started ripping into his classmate. Several punches to the face left Erik badly wounded, and bleeding. Tomas knew enough was enough and stood up. His classmates were standing up, gawping.

Tomas knew he’d have consequences to face, how severe, who knows? He’d had a rush of blood, a mere moment of aggression, but it could cost him a place at his College. Ms. Wrankle stood open-mouthed and tried to reprimand Tomas, but that was never going to happen. Tomas gave her a small shove and she almost tripped, but by that time, Tomas was gone. Out the door, through the corridors, down the stairs, and out the school.

New story looks really good so far Ed, looking forward to reading it, i'm confident that you'll live up to Kris' expectations! :P. I think i know where this is going for now, but should be very interesting, and a great background.
