Hey fellow Football Managers,
This is my own ''No Wingers Tactic!''
If you do not really have good wingers at your disposal, but you do want to play attacking possession football, try this tactic!
The tactic relies on short passing possession football with very strong Wing Backs that provide the wing support.
The idea is that your 4 midfielders will pass the ball around until one of the backs come forward to cross the ball. All your players (except for the DM (Anchor Man) and your 2 Central Defenders) will move into the final third. For me, this often results in a goal: The two forwards are in front of the goal and the other 3 midfielders are available around the box. You are a bit vulnerable to counter attacks though; however, the anchor man will stay back to support your 2 central defenders, which is often enough to counter the counter-attack.
In principle, your team has 3 defenders and 7 attackers
Strong wing backs are a must, as well as a skilled midfield in terms of passing. Try to select players with high attributed that match the highlighted attributes for each individual role, e.g. CWB: Crossing, Dribbling, Stamina, etc.).
To make this tactic work, I wouldn't change the roles around too much. You might get away with changing the BBM role to just Central Midfielder. After all, this FM is more about utilizing your players in the right way. So if you do not really have a player that can properly perform e.g. the BBM role, it would be actually better to change it to CM for instance. However, the AP, Anchor Man, and Ball-Winning Midfielders are very important. These shan't be changed.
Finally, you should let your assistant set the pre-match instructions and you might change some of the instructions depending on the match you are playing (or during a match), but that is up to you.
Try it for yourself and good luck!
