After referring back to Max's brilliant tactical guide and the Tactical Theorems guide produced by the good people at FM-Britain and even Stigen's list of players that fit into roles on FM2010,I still cannot find a good box-to-box midfielder to fit into my teams.I know that Martin Rowlands of Queens Park Rangers is a good box-to-box midfielder because he can really bang in the goals and can shine in that role, but I really cannot find one in the market.

Do I have to re-train a current player into a Box-to-Box midfielder like,for example,Wesley Sneijder?

Has anyone got good suggestions for box-to-box midfielders?

Not sure if hes like it in the game but Abou Diaby and alex song are box to box in real life so I would assume there stats are good on fm :)

The term 'box-to-box' player is often used to refer to the most dynamic all-round/complete midfielders, who provide both defensive and attacking prowess. The most versatile of players, they typically possess exceptional stamina and are usually skilled at tackling, passing, shooting and keeping possession.

I just typed 'Box To Box Midfielder' In Google, and this came up. Maybe it can help you?

I've only ever use 1 tactic with a 'Box To Box Mid' And I used Gerrard.

a good example of a box to box midfielder uprising is Michael Johnson and Jack Rodwell, both got very good stamina and fitness in general, can attack and defend

With my tactics, I have a b-t-b midfielder involved, I choose to use Essien, and he's brilliant player there.

Gonna do that now.

Gerrard is of course a typical box-to-box midfielder because he possesses a host of attributes, such as finishing, long shots, tackling, sometimes anticipation, decision making, free kick taking...the list is basically endless.

But I've only managed Liverpool a couple of times only until pre-season and used him as an attacking midfielder, therefore, never used him as a box-to-box midfielder.Maybe in the England team with Frank Lampard.

Try Wilson Palacios

He's more of a ball-winning midfielder but yeah,he could be re-trained into a box-to-box one,he definately has the potential to.

It's just Spurs will definately want over £20million for him,so that's a bit of a setback.

I'm just gonna go for James Milner. He looks like a good box-to-box midfielder.

Excellent work rate,plus,he's cheaper.

Milner is a winger mate, let me find some box to box midfielders for you

fletcher, toulalan, essien, moussa sissoko, flamini, moutinho, rodwell, kallstrom, de rossi, marchisio, lampard, anderson,

Ok Madsheep stole my sparks, out of them i highly recommend kallstrom and rodwell

the box to box player is dying out, even in england

Box‐to‐Box Midfielder.

Key Attributes: Marking, Tackling, Positioning, Strength, Stamina, Passing, Technique, Acceleration, Long Shots, Decisions, Teamwork, Bravery, Determination, Work Rate

Famous Examples: Brian Robson, Roy Keane, Steven Gerrard, Redondo

Nowadays, the box‐to‐box midfielder is a threatened species to be found mainly in the British Isles. The precise tactical plans of modern‐day football have no place for the non‐stop dynamism of box‐to‐box midfielders, as seen by the problems continental European managers have in working out how to best deploy Gerrard. In FM terms, it is best to allow the Box‐to‐Box Midfielder highish mentality and creative freedom alongside a free role to get him forward while assigning him a Support role ensures he won’t neglect his defensive duties.

• Player Role: Support
• Run With Ball: Mixed
• Long Shots: Often
• Through Balls: Mixed
• Cross Ball: Mixed
• Cross From: Mixed
• Hold Up Ball: Yes

Found that.

you can get away with some of the stats beig average, but teamwork, work rate, stamina need to be high, natual fitness too if hes first team and playing every game. he will run more than any other player in your team

More of a defensive winger, but has been recently put into central midfield by Martin O'Neill for Villa.Wanna do the same.

you cal play him as an out and out winger, ive played him as an inside forward before, very versatile player

True,he can really dart down those wings.

Fletcher,Milner and Rodwell are my top three picks as box-to-box midfielders.

Aquliani, Essien, Senna, Joao Moutinho, Vieira, De Rossi and obviously Gerrard.
