Bringing Back the Baggies

After an Eight Year stay in the top flight of English Football, West Brom's fate was sealed on Tuesday evening after a Manolo Gabbiadini goal was the difference between Southampton and Swansea. The result sealed the Baggies fate and relegated them to the second tier of English Football, the result left West Brom five points from safety with one game remaining, Sunday's trip to Crystal Palace.

Manager Darren Moore had overseen three wins and two draws in his five games whilst in charge of West Brom, unfortunately their relegation was confirmed just hours after the he was named April’s Premier League Manager of the Month, Moore took over from Alan Pardew who left the club bottom of the league following just one win in 17 matches in what has been a disastrous campaign at The Hawthorns to say the least. Moore is the fourth manager the club has had this season, after Tony Pulis, Gary Megson and Pardew.

Darren Moore's magnificent five-game stint in temporary charge may have lifted a season of anguish at the Hawthorns, but it cannot conceal a truly disastrous season where everything that could have gone wrong did. However the big question is what happens now. The word is Darren Moore will not be the manager next season, it would appear he doesn't really want the job on a permanent basis, despite having gained victories over Jose Mourinho, Rafael Benitez and Mauricio Pochettino during his time as boss. So if not Moore, who? Baggies old boy Michael Appleton? Brentford boss Dean Smith?
