Steve Bruce bemoans a dearth of young British talent and says academies in English football are not working.

Boro academy doesn't do too badly to be fair.

Man Utd's youngsters have reached the final of The Champions Youth Cup as well so it can't be all that bad.

Where the **** does he think players like Walcott, Bale, Giles Barnes, Michael Dawson, Joleon Lescott etc came from? Not exactly world beaters (although Lescotts been rightly tipped for England), but they are good youngsters.

And if hes 'looking round' for a young midfielder, shouldnt he be moaning about Birminghams lack of youth setup and not everybody elses?

if birmingham have no yopung tallent thats bruce' fault England have amazing under 21's and Scotlands youth is improving. as much as i hate to say it but hibs have the best youngsters in the country
