Ok basically im looking for a good cheap laptop that has decent graphics card and will run well. Please dont suggest Alienware or XPS as there far outside my price range. Top end of my budget is 600 Euros.

I was looking at a HP DV6 Series.
Heres the spec:
Intel Core i3 370M.
2.4GHz processor speed.
4GB DDR3 RAM memory.
500GB hard drive.

Resolution 1366 x 768 pixels.
DVD optical drives:
Dual layer.
Dedicated graphics.
ATI Radeon HD 5470 graphics card with 512MB memory.
Interfaces and connectivity:
Secure Digital (SD), xD, Multi-Media Card (MMC) compatible.
4 USB ports.
1 Ethernet port.
1 HDMI port.
Bluetooth.
E-SATA.
B/g/n wireless/WiFi enabled.
Operating system and software:
Microsoft Windows 7 Premium.

Just wondering if this is going to be a decent bit of kit for 600 quid or does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks

I put this in Gaming section as im looking for a Gaming laptop not a basic one incase mods are wondering :)

I'm not an expert on laptops so I can't really help too much. All I can say is that laptop does look good, good processor, good amount of RAM, big HDD (for a laptop anyway) and decent graphics. Look at websites such as Ebuyer, Scan and Overclockers to see if you can find any other good deals.

Cheers Jak, i dont know that much myself so just said id see if i could get some decent opinions. Could get one for 100 sheets less but it only has integrated Intel GMA graphics but iv heard intel are poor for Chipsets and you cant go wrong with ATI or Nvida...

Its fairly good spec from what i see but just wondering is it ok spec for the price? and secondly is a 512mb graphics card good? I can see some 1gb ones but there a good bit more expensive.

512 won't be enough for most games coming out now.

for the resolution of the laptop then yeah it is good. You won't be able to play high intensive games due the card itself rather than the VRAM so it should be fine. What games were you thinking of playing?

Yes it will at that resolution. 1GB cards in most laptops is just for marketing and serve no real purpose. What really matters is the GPU itself.

Cheers for the help guys. I ended up getting this:

So far it has been up to scratch. Only downside is that it came with fock all software. Ended up costing €650 which is around £550 in pounds.

Thanks for the advice
