Mick McCarthy Walks away from Wolves

Wolves have today confirmed that Mick McCarthy has left the club due to Mutual consent, with McCarthy being quoted saying "his heart wasn't in the game anymore." The club have confirmed that they will be looking for potential managers. While the club are looking they have appointed Terry Connor as the caretaker manager. Fans were seen rejoycing outside Molineux after the news had filtered through of the many fans were rejoicing and calling for Wolves' legend, Steve Bull, some however were sad to see McCarthy go. Fans spokesman Barry Baker was sad to see McCarthy go but said the time was right for him to move on and Wolves needed a fresh approach to its game. Baker continued to add that McCarthy had done wonders at Wolves but he could not see McCarthy take Wolves any further than he already had done. The name on most Wolves' fans lips was Lee Clarke, Ray Wilkins or care-taker manager Terry Connor, however a rumour was flying around that Wolves legend Steve Bull could make a shock return.

This news comes just before Wolves we're set to announce there new multi million pound kit deal, and their new sponsor. More news to come.

Steve Bull takes over at Wolves.

At around 12am today Wolves Chairman Steve Morgan announced that Wolves Legend Steve Bull would be taking the vacant managerial role at Wolves. All Wolves fans have a great respect from the legened that is 'Bully'. Bully made his debut for Wolves was against Wrexham on 22 November 1986. He made 464 league appearances for the club, 561 appearances in total, scoring 306 goals for Wolves. On leaving Wolves, he went on to play 12 games for Hereford United where he rejoined his old manager Graham Turner.

Bull continued to perform well in the second tier of the English league, and stayed loyal to his Midlands roots despite interest from the likes of Aston Villa, Coventry City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Ajax, Manchester United, Liverpool, Rangers, Lazio, Boca Juniors, Newcastle United and even the Italian giants Juventus and Genoa who reportedly had a £3.5m bid turned down prior to the 1990 world cup.

Steve Bull was capped 13 times for the England team, and scored 4 goals in the build up to Italia 90. He went on to score 2 more goals in a friendly against Czechoslovakia in 1989-90, one of which was voted in as number 37 of England's 50 Greatest Goals. His final England goal was against Tunisia, which earned him a place in Bobby Robson's World Cup Squad.

Wolves Unveil 3 New Signings.

Steve Bull today completed his first signings as Wolves manager, Wolves owner Steve Morgan surely put his faith in the new Wolves boss by giving him a respectable transfer kitty of £10m. Bully's first signing was one what could be compared to him, with Craig Dawson switching the Blue and White for the Old Gold and Black, one of only a few players to cross the Black Country Divide, with Steve Bull being one of them. Dawson found himself transfer listed by Baggie's boss Roy Hodgson, and Wolves managed to sign the exiting England u-21 youngster for a mere £1.4m. Wolves then completed the signing of Free agent Amara Diané, a former PSG striker and partner to Didier Drogba for the Ivory Coast national team. Radja Niaggolan then joined Bull's new revolution, for a record tranfer fee of £13.5m, but alot of it is rumored to be paid off over the next 48 months. Wolves recouped some of the transfer money by selling Serbian playmaker Nenad Milijas to Southampton.Bull also expressed his disappointment at the amount of players who wouldn't even discuss terms with the club. He named players such as Danny Welbeck, Vaclav Kadlec and several other players. Carlos Fierro is also expected to sign subject to Work Permit issues.​

Mixed pre-season for Wolves.

A disappointing start to Wolves' pre-season with a 3-2 loss at AS Nancy Lorraine, Bull fielded a strong line up and would have been disappointed to lose this one. However, some positives did come from the game with Emmanuel Frimpong grabbing his first goal in a Gold shirt, something Arsenal fans will only want to see him in for a season! Wolves also recorded Impressive scorelines against both OM and Benfica, with OM scoring a last minute equaliser to deny Wolves a famous friendly win. Bull would have been impressed with his two signings Amara Diane and Craig Dawson whom have both looked impressive while being in the side. Bull's third signing Radja Nainggolan was signed after the pre-season friendlies and will be hoping to go into Wolves' first premier league game against Spurs this weekend. Wolves' have also completed the signing of Chivas' youngster Carlos Feirro, whom will remain with Chivas until 1st June 2012.

Bull outlines Wolves' future.

Steve Bull spoke to the media ahead of his clubs game against Spurs at the weekend, he again spoke of the pride to be able to manage the club he loves stating "He is very grateful for Steve and Jez to have faith in him", and he aims to repay their faith by "driving the club up the league." During the time Bull has been at the club as manager he has had a 'cleanout' of the backing staff and bought in his own assistant, Jose Segura. He gained his expereince at his time at Liverpool as youth coach, but Bull believes he is the man to help guide Wolves up the league.

Toughest start to a Premier league season?

Although Steve Bull's Wolves have only picked up 2 points in the league out of a possible 9 during August, if you look at the bigger picture, they could be 2 very valuable set of points over the season. Bully's first league game as Wolves boss was not one he would like to forget, a impressive point at home to Spurs. Wolves went ahead in the 42nd minute through Kevin Doyle but was unfortunately pinned back by Spurs through an unfortunate own goal by left back Stephen Ward. Chelsea then entertained Wolves at Stamford Bridge and Wolves managed to get another 1-1 draw, managing to come from behind after Juan Mata had put Chelsea ahead in 11th minute. Wolves showed great resilience and after 7 minutes of the restart Roger Johnson had put Wolves level. Wolves then hosted Manchester United after a fantastic 4-1 over Colchester with Amara Diane grabbing a first half hat-trick after Sylvan Ebanks-Blake had put Wolves ahead after 2 minutes. Wolves we're fantastic against Manchester United and were very unlucky not to get 3 points let alone 1 point.

Wolves Show Some Fighting Spirit!

Wolves' September couldn't have got much better, with a 3-0 win at St. James' Park to get the ball rolling. The Wolves fans' will have been loving their new man after a fantastic start to the season. Wolves' workaholic striker Kevin Doyle got them off to a fantastic start with a side footed finish on 11minutes. Matt Jarvis then put Wolves 2-0 up on 26 minutes cutting inside on his right and bending it in the corner. Kevin Doyle should have had his second of the game but it took a tackle from Steven Taylor to make it 3-0 with the luck being on Wolves' side the slide tackle send the pall into the corner with Krul being wrong footed. Wolves then hosted Staffordshire rivals Stoke City, and it didn't look like Wolves' day with them hitting the woodwork 3 times over the 90 minutes, and as the game neared an end, super sub Amara Diane scored a fantastic diving header in the 92nd minute to send Molinuex wild and the Wolves faithful chanting the Steve Bull song at fulltime with a 1-0 win. Another derby for Wolves a week later as they traveled to Black-country rivals West Brom in the League cup, and it was another derby win for Bull's men, and another League cup hat-trick for Amara Diane with goals on 12, 63 and 69. The end of the month, however, didn't end with another win, but with a draw away to Swansea. Diane got Wolves off to a fantastic start after putting them up on the 13th minute after a great ball by Steven Fletcher. However, Alan Tate pulled a goal back for Swansea. Diane should have won it for Wolves when he hit the post on the 80th minute, but it wasn't to be. Wolves end the month being 9th in the league.

Wolves Go Unbeaten in October

One word to sum up Wolves' month? Amazing. Steve Bull has certainly had an impact on the players with them going the whole month unbeaten, defeating some big names on the way. Wolves started the month off at home to Midlands rivals Aston Villa, Amara Diane got back to what he does best, by scoring in the 25th minute, just after Aston Villa had threatened Wayne Hennessey's goal. Matt Jarvis then put Wolves 2-0 up 7 minutes after Diane's goal. The teams then went into the break with Wolves 2-0, and Alex McCleish's team talk did have some impact, with Villa coming out of the traps straight away and threatening the goal with Bent unlucky to pull a goal back. It was actually Wolves who got the third goal of the match with Kevin Doyle scoring on the 52nd and 71st minutes to give Wolves' a 4-0 over local rivals. Wolves then visited high flying Liverpool and would have probably took a draw prior to kick off, so would have been overjoyed at taking all three points through Amara Diane grabbing a brace. Wolves then entertained bottom of the league Blackburn, and we're tipped to run riot before the game, and thats exactly what they done. Yes, you guessed it, Amara Diane grabbed another brace getting goals in the 1st and 16th minute. Sebastian Bassong got his first Wolves goal on 31 minutes and Yakubu got an unlucky own goal on 45+1 minutes. It was then time to move away from the Premier league and after their 3-1 at West Brom in the League Cup, Wolves hosted Tottenham and it was a game which won't be forgotten in a while! A fantastic 3-3 draw which was decided on penalties. Defoe had put Spurs 1-0 before Steven Fletcher ended his 10 hour wait for a goal to put Wolves 2-1. Niko Kranjcar then pulled Spurs level with it finishing 2-2 at full time. Steven Fletcher then grabbed his hat-trick in extra time and Jermaine Defoe grabbed his 2nd of the game. Wolves had scored all of their penalties (apart from Jamie O'hara, who coincidentally is a Tottenham fan) and it was Youness Kaboul who missed the vital penalty to give Wolves the win. Wolves final game of the month was one which fans could have been forgiven for hoping for a draw. Kevin Doyle had put the midlands side up on 41 minutes, before Mauroune Chamack had equalised for Arsenal. It had at one point looked like Arsenal we're going to grab a goal but it was Wolves' who hit them on the break in the 69th minute through Sebastian Bassong, with Wolves holding out, it leaves them 2nd in the table, 1 point behind Fulham.

Wolves Back to Earth With a Bump!

Wolves started the month at home to high flying Fulham who we're lying top of the table, so Wolves fans would have been over the moon with the result. Amara Diane got the ball rolling with a cool finish on 28th minute. The match was very even until the 50th minute when Roger Johnson put Wolves 2-0. Fulham continued to pressure the Wolves goal and got their reward through Andrew Johnson on 87 minutes, but it proved too little too late, and Wolves took all 3 points. Wolves then traveled to Eastlands to play Manchester City, a real title contender, and it was Bull's team who came back red faced, after a 5-0 drubbing. Agureo grabbed 2 goals on 22 and 38 minutes before being replaced at HT by Samir Nasri who got a goal on 67. Yaya Toure and Carloz Tevez completed the rout on 77 and 83 minutes. Wolves fans would have been disappointed in the manner of the loss but their unbeaten streak was bound to come to an end. Molineux then hosted the Black cats and it was Steven Fletcher who scored the only 2 goals in the game to give Wolves a well deserved win at home, a great way to bounce back from the City game. Away from the Premier league, Reading hosted Wolves in the League cup. After Wolves had already beaten two Premier League teams, West Brom and Tottenham. So Wolves fans would have been hugely disappointed at not progressing through to the Semis. Wolves went 1-0 up on 17 minutes through an unfortunate own goal from Reading CB Kaspers Gorks. Reading pulled one back 10minutes later through livewire Noel Hunt, and just as the teams we're preparing for half time, Jobi McCnuff hut a feirce shot which took a huge deflection of Sebastien Bassong to give reading a 2-1 lead. Sam Whittal scored with virtually his first touch after Bull had handed the youngster who had 14 in 18 for the u18s squad. Kaspars Gorks then redeemed himself and put reading 3-2 up with a bullet header on 75 minutes and Jobi McCnuff confirmed the win for reading on 83minutes. Wolves will be hoping to bounce back when they play bottom of the league, Wigan.

Wolves Christmas Cheer.

To start the month of December Wigan entertained Wolves at the DW Stadium, and it was Bully's team who started best, Steven Fletcher putting them ahead within 30 seconds. Matt Jarvis then went on to double the lead in the 8th minute with a cool side footed finish. The teams then went in at half time with the score 0-2. Sebastien Bassong put Wolves 3-0 up almost immediately after kick off, and with the African cup of nations only a month away Wolves are bound to miss the fantastic Cameroonian center back. Victor Moses did manage to get a consolation goal in the 1st minute of added time, with the game finishing up 3-1. Another away game for Wolves being away at Norwich, and it is one game which won't be remembered for many reasons, a boring 0-0 draw which neither team looked up for. With the most exciting part of the game being Sebastien Bassong being shown a red card in the 71st minute. Molineux then hosted QPR, with another fantastic performance for Steve Bull's team, Wolves started the game raring to go, and it was Adam Hammill who put them ahead after 2 minutes. Jamie O'hara added a second on 21 minutes, and Steven Fletcher on 26 minutes put Wolves 3-0. Amara Diame, another player who will be missing during the African Cup of Nations, put Wolves 4-0 up with Bobby Zamora grabbing a consolation goal in the 71st minute. It was then time for West Brom vs. Wolves, a match in which Bull's team had come out on top earlier in the season with a 1-3 win in the League Cup. It was almost the seam out come, but with one goal less, with Wolves coming out on top with a 2-1 win away from home. Wolves had come from behind with Chris Brunt putting the baggies 1-0 up in the 26th minute, and it looked like it would remain that way before halftime, but not if Matt Jarvis had anything to do with it, with yet another stroked finish on the 43rd minute. Local lad Zeli Ismail, who had come through Wolves' youth team, then went on to get a winner for Wolves. Something what the young lad is surely to treasure. On the back of a fantastic derby win for Bull's men, Wolves hosted Everton, and they came out on top yet again. Both of Wolves' strikers got on the score sheet with Amara Diane getting his 17th goal of the season and Ebanks-Blake grabbing his 3rd of the season. With a dissapointing end to the month, Wolves traveled to the Reebok Stadium. They would have been very dissapointed to come away with nothing, especially after throwing a 1-0 lead away after Amara Diane had scored yet another goal to put them ahead, but it was Ryo Miatchi who grabbed two goals for Bolton and Ricardo Gardner who had the final word giving Bolton a deserved 3-1 win.

Wolves Splash The Cash!

Before we look at how Wolves results have gone, We're going to see if Steve Bull has spent the money wisely, or if he has wasted the money given to him by Steve Morgan. Bull's first signing of January was the £2.2m bid for Huddersfield hotshot Jordan Rhodes who was scoring goals for fun for them in League 1. It was then Torino's left back Angelo Ogbonna who completed the £4.6m transfer fee, which was largely to be paid off over 48months, and who Bull would like to fill in at left back and stop Wolves' wing back problem. Adam Johnson had found himself transfer listed at Manchester City was the next to sign for Wolves. Initially City had been demanding £10m for the lively winger, but it was Bull who came out on top, with a cheeky £3m bid being accepted by Roberto Mancini. Bull will be hoping the England international has an immediate impact. Shaktar's midfield maestro Henrik Mkhitaryan then signed for a impressive £10.25m. A pretty substancial sum of money, in which he will be hoping to repay Bull's faith. Bull's final signing came on deadline day, with all looking done for Wolves. He pulled off a shock with the signing of dni Pro right back Samuel Inkoom for a fee rumoured to be around £7.5m.

Thanks mate, means alot! and I'm glad, Clint Dempsey seems like a great signing! Steve Morgan gives you a decent budget and if Jarvis is on his game then its good!

I feel for you as your a pompey fan though, quality club and fans. Only thing i don't like about you is that ***** of a left back Greg Halford! ;-) Keep on following and update me on how you do with Wolves!

ha cheers mate i love my club and i always will dempsey is gr8 but im a fan of halford he has been playing midfield lately he got 8 goals this season but looks like he will be following our former beasty centre back out the fratton door jason pearce. ward norris varney ben haim huseklepp mokoena and kanu will leave also not looking good but appy is a god and he will rebuild and we will be back one play up pompey and good luck
