Cork will be good for mid table premier league team. 4m seems reasonable.
Is Walker doing good? Usually Walker and Naughton(both RB) will be out of favour at Spurs. If not try Ivan tomecak, Ivan Pillud, Samuel Inkoom or Jerry Vandam.

This is what i expect my squad to me entering the premiership (first day of season) - with who i expect to go not included and the transfers i have agreed included.
GK - Hradecky, F.Fielding
DL - R.Wallace, B.Easton
DR - Cho Won-Hee, A.Yakubu, G.Alexander
CB - A.Barthe, J.DeMerit, A.Bikey, (K.Long - might let go out on loan)
ML - Eagles, Kapo, G.Boyd (Sillah - might let leave)
MR - Soukouna, N'Gadi, Assulin
CM - C.McCann, McDonald, R.Gucher,
ST - L.Griffiths, J.Bothroyd, Mendes da Graca, M.Paterson (Rodriguez - might let go out on loan)
obviously quite a small squad, because il let a load go to free up the wage budget.
Budget atm is 16M + sales, i dont know if will increase next season though

2) Young CB as backup (behind DeMerit & Barthe)
3) Quality CM to replace Cork who was in on loan
4) Young midfielder who i can shape into advanced playmaker
5) Quality striker who will get goals - preferably targetman to play with Girffiths

With that team you will get relegated. You need players who know the league and can carry the not so good players. Luckily I spend a lot of time playing as newly promoted teams so I know a few bargains
1) Check the Tottenham reserves! Kaboul and/or Woodgate are usually avaliable. I would go for Kaboul due to wage demands however Woodgate is IMO better.
2) Jordan Spence is a great young player avaliable for less than £3,000,000 - wouldn't look much further than him unless Danny Wilson is transfer listed
3) Blackpool get relegated 90% of the time meaning Charlie Adam is avaliable, leading Premier League midfielder he can run your side, would also reccomend bringing in another CM preferably Wilson Palacios.
4) Leave this one to you, not the best at scouting young players.

Yeah i have a very young and inexperienced squad, but iv absolutely owned the championship 105 points with 3 games to go, only 2 losses, 90 goals scored. So im hoping with these 5-7 additions i should just be able to survive

im burnley in the second season, managed to beat man cuity west brom, birmingham stoke
after 6 games im on 13 points and sit in 5th

talking to manual da costa from west ham for 1.2m fee as cheap backup
other free players iv noticed that im considering as i have plenty of wages but not a lot of money

yeah i sold edgar 1m, carlisle 700k, duff 700k, elliot 300k, mears 1m, got them all out!
