Burnley v Aston Villa

Wilson finally gets his first league goal of the season to see us get the 3 points here. I was hoping for more here coming up against newly promoted Villa.

Liverpool v Burnley

The game got away from us after Rice got his marching orders but it was still a good scorline as we scored with our only shot on goal where as Liverpool at 15 on target so its safe to say Butland really kept us in the game for as long as he did.

Carabao Cup Third Round
Fleetwood v Burnley

We rotate the full starting XI here as they deserved some game time and Calvert-Lewin had a great game getting a brace to see us through to the fourth round.

Burnley v West Ham

This really wasn't a fair result for West Ham as the game was one of the most boring known to football until the goal happened as nothing really happened at all.

Watford v Burnley

Two of our young players come to the forefront with goals. Teirney gets a great goal from making a great run from left back and slotting home from a cross to give us the lead before Matondo finishes the game off with the second.

Burnley v Leeds

A better performance against a newly promoted team as Wilson gets back on the score sheet to put us ahead. Hughes gets the second before Brewster takes his chance thanks to injuries to show that he can step in when needed.

Chelsea v Burnley

This was looking to be a close match before Wilson got the opener to put us ahead but Chelsea stepped it up a gear to show us that we still can't mix it with the big boys to get two goals within 5 minutes to win the game.

Carabao Cup Fourth Round
Burnley v Wigan

We rotate heavily again for facing lower league opposition and it pays off even if the score line flatters Wigan but we move onto the quarter finals now.
