Can a player's personality be changed through private chat?

Anyone notice when you say something to someone, their personality appears on the right.

I've got this good potential kid who is "light-hearted" and he keeps going to abysmal morale when he makes one single mistake. I've tried telling him he's in the reserves due to poor performance, the morale rises, and I try a few more things, but it's not changing.

Am I wasting my time? This guy is a liability!

The only way I know of to change their personality is through tutoring and you have to be careful to pick a trainer with a similar personality. So a professional would work best with fairly professional etc... Sometimes you can mix them up a bit pro/ambitious or loyal/determined and if they both agree give it a shot but it's about 50/50 if they'll end up mad at each other. If you have any seasoned players see if they'll both agree to work together - that's better than dumping him for nothing without trying and they only stay mad for a little while if it fails.
