Can I get promoted with Derby?

Hey I've just started my Derby game, sitting in 14th after 12 game, not looking good for play-off's. Could anyone recommend where I could improve my squad so I can get promoted? Was really looking to get promoted first time so I can get some cash in. Here's some screen shots.

ur only 5pts from 6th so u still have a good chance plus its still very early
 
a creative mid aswell and another striker
 
I'm using Kris Commons as my playmaker who's my top player on 7.14 but Marney cost me 950k to take on loan but has so far played 6.18 :/

I only have 243k to spend, do you know anyone who's that cheap? lol

I've used all my England loans, I think it's looking up though.

Just beat Plymouth 4-0 and Sheff Utd 1-0 so I'm upto 10th, 2 points away from play-offs :)

Will do! I'll post screenshots each month or every few months to keep you all updated. Just a quick update though.

Reached 6th after 16 games, after getting 10 points from my last 4 games :)
 
The team you inherit is pretty good at Derby, use Woody's BC tactics.

Savage and Green as Midfield

Hulse and Tito (er Villa sorry) or Hulse/Porter if you have that update.

Jay Mac Leacock Addison Connolly

Ratout (Bywater)

Commons I find is hit and miss as left wing and it doesnt think Teale can play there. (I retrained Teale onto left to be able to play pretty much as Clough did last season).

If you have the newer databases you may not have Barazite.

The biggest pain i found with 9.3 is you have 3 coaches who in game arent very good but you cant get rid as theyre on long contracts...

Also I'm losing millions of pounds every month and it's looking bad.. I'm trying to get rid of Carroll and Savage because I don't play them and they are just using up funds I don't have! But nobody wants them..
 
The wages of Savage and Carroll are a massive problem and it isn't helped that nobody ever wants to buy these players.

I've only ever managed promotion with Derby once in the first season and the players I signed were Craig Bryson (AMC) from Kilmarnock, Peter Masilela (D/WBL) from M. Haifa and Christian Benitez (FC) from Santos Laguna. If nobody has offered Erik Delgado a pre-contract yet then jump in there, he was willing to join me most games. Zuculini (DM) is a good shout also and turns out brilliant but he won't come untill January.

I Always sell Villa as Sheff Utd seem willing to take him off my hands. Another problem you have is next year Ellington will be taking £20,000 a week off your wage budget also.

If you're using a patch other than 9.0.3 then I don't know what to suggest, other than get your rat out.

Edit* Just looked at your transfers and noticed you've loaned out Moxey and Buxton so you clearly have an update I know nothing about, sorry. :)

That's the problem with community updates and the main reason I never bother. I prefer SI's player attributes to average Joe's.

Best of luck with the Derby save though.

lol its a shame the Snakes got **** stats as hes not been that awful so far.

Updates are a pain as well cos a lot of players i signed start of are now at other clubs (like Berra ferinstance).

Yeah really have messed with the Derby players attributes, but I feel like I'm cheating if I change them =|
