cant detect network through steam

im trying to play a network game with 2 friends over a lan network. they are both running the game off a disk (i am using steam) and can both enter the network game. my game does not detect any lan games at all, although i am connected to the network. we all have the 10.1 version. my firewall is off.

any suggestions?

see if fm10 runs without the disk, uninstall urs then download it of thier disk???? just a guess m8

FM has always been **** for playing network games. Try downloading Hamachi and using that to play.

yeah ive already got hamachi, used it for networked fm09 games. i just figured a LAN game wouldn't need it..

shows what i know.

Im having a similar problem it says ( you ar running an incompatible version of the game even though we both have the new patch posted on this site).
