Can't play player.

I recently started a new game with Barcelona and I loaned a young player(Casemiro) from Sao Paulo.

Now, I didn't register him as it said players who are 18 years old or younger on 01.01.11 don't need to be registered.

Now, it says he's unable to be selected for every league match. I checked his birthday and he turns 19 in February, meaning he shouldn't need to be registered.

I am able to use him in the Champions League though.

So what gives?

Isn't it something to do with the La Liga rules and Brazilian players?

I think there is a maximum limit of 3 Non-EU players in a Spanish teams squad

Yes I know that, but I only have 1 foreign player registered.

And it doesn't say anything that if a player is 18 or younger but foreign that he still needs to be registered.
