Carlo Ancelotti OSI (Italian pronunciation: [ˈkarlo antʃeˈlɔtti]; born 10 June 1959) is an Italian former professional footballer and a professional football manager who is the manager of Premier League club Everton.

In Goodison Park, Carlo Ancelotti captured his first victory as Everton’s boss versus a well organized Burnley side. The 1-0 victory was a marvelous late Christmas gift for Toffees everywhere, providing good defense, a timely header, and interesting tactics.

New Year’s Day means another road match, this time against Manchester City. The first match grew out of hand, despite the best efforts of Yerry Mina and Richarlison.

Gabriel Jesus scored twice as Manchester City survived a nervy finish to hold off Everton and end Carlo Ancelotti's unbeaten start as Toffees manager.

Despite the loss, Carlo Ancelotti could repeatedly be seen urging his players to get the ball forward more quickly, Everton will do well to take confidence from this performance into their next fixture. They defended well for long periods, restricting City to a limited number of scoring opportunities.

Ancelotti is a thoughtful man, an ex-player, and an excellent tactical coach. These qualities were all demonstrated in his first match in England since being fired by Chelsea. In this incarnation, Ancelotti demonstrated his vision as well as capacity as a manager in many ways.

As a manager, he has worked for Reggiana, Parma, Juventus, Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Napoli, and has won domestic titles in Italy, England, France, Spain, and Germany.

Carlo Ancelotti praised Everton’s ‘spirit’ despite seeing his side lose for the first time under his management, admitting that Man City were deserving winners.
