Ive found Adu is better deployed up front in a 4-4-2. Joleon Lescott of Wolves is a good central defender and Lucien Mettomo. There was a good cheap midfielder in FM 2005 called David Bystron from Czech Republic but i havent been able to find him in 2006. Also there is a young Brazilian Dudu Cearense who is available on a free at the start of the game. He can play defensive midfield centre and right and can be retrained into an excellent attacking right midfielder.

I would recommend you get Steven Davies from Tottenham.. He develops into an excellent player if you give him enough first-team spots and also give him a suitbale midfield training schedule.
