Ok I know many people make posts asking when they are most likely to be taken over by billionaires so they can spend loads of money. In fact I usually help answer those posts. I just wanted to ask how long it usually takes and when it is most likely to happen for someone to take over if the Chairman 'Willing to listen to offers'. I'm in my fourth season with Liverpool and have just entered January. I went to my Board requests screen and saw that he was willing to listen to offers. I don't know how long he has been like this but it can't have been that long otherwise I would have noticed sooner. My question is when am I most likely to be taken over? I know the factors to make you more likely to be taken over are your current financial situation, your success and your chairmans status. My financial situation is quite dire (losing about £10M a month, mainly due to wages but I may have a summer clear out) but my success has been quite good. (Fa Cup and Champions league 09/10, league winners last 2 seasons with a couple of league cups there too). Any advice would be appreciated.
(the bold is there just to draw attention for people who skim read, especially as this post is longer than I originally wanted(6))

If you go into administration you always get sold, so losing £10m a month will eventually lead to debt and then the game automatically makes the chairman sell, just keep losing that money! ;)

Keep losing money and you're sure-fire to get taken over. You'll get an email saying that there are negotiations underway. I've just started a Crystal palace game and it's taking months. On my Worksop save it took around 4 weeks.

As long as you're "untouchable" or "very secure" status you probably won't get fired. If not you most likely will. I had untouchable but I think I only got through because I was a club legend. Get the wage bill down ASAP. I came close to getting fired and I had a financial control rating of 19. (hint reduce your transfer budget to 0 when you're not buying anyone and only adjust enough to cover tranfers when you are)

Thanks for the replies you 2.
Aannddyy I was always worried about this but then at the end of the season my bank balance goes back to positive because of prize money and then tv money for the following season.

Winfield I am currently very secure and have been very successful while being the manager so fingers crossed I won't get fired if i get taken over. The current board are 'very pleased' with my management especially because of the 'increase in stature since I took over.' I am selling a couple players this january and will sell more in the summer. Some of my younger players are getting a bit older so can have more input for my first team.

It is better to lose money at the beginning of the season through buys etc than to make money at the beginning and lose money through out. Please try to clear out some of the expensive players like you have said.

You don't often get fired unless your results are poor.

get a message saying Hicks would like to leave sooner rather than later. Also said it was likely another member of the board would take over. Does this mean it's unlikely another consortium will take over the club?

Yep got a message saying that a consortium of businessmen are planning to make an offer (including a former player) and that an offer may be made to Hicks in the coming weeks

good luck .. at the moment i have a new chairman at liverpool called david moores he is constantly putting money into club . . but in the past purslow has tgaken over and not given me a penny

It depends on lukc, and what sort of person takes over. If its a tycoon or consortium, they are more likely to give you money to spend, whereas if a local businessman or a promotion from within(member of the board) take over, they are less likely to give you big cash..

The consourtium 'pulled the plug' :( but Hicks still wants to leave as soon as possible and said I shouldn't rule out that same person investing in Liverpool in the future.

sorrry this is a late reply to the thread first off!
im manchester united in march 2020, club worth £431m and debts of £519m. Every month i lose around £9-10m, my transfer budget is £0 from an initial 55m and i have 46k a week spare in wages. When do you think i will be taken over? Any more information needed just ask :)

Thanks

better to revive an old thread than make a new one, especially as it's my thread :$
anyway you should be taken over at some point in the near future with those epic debts. How successful are you? What does the board say, as in is 'the chairman is happy at the club' or 'the chairman is looking to leave'?

ive won the prem 4 years in a row, just finished this season just now and came 2nd.
Also just sold sergio aguero at 45m
And where would it say that?

at the top of your page choose 'Man Utd' then look down the list until you see 'Board Room'. Click on that and you should see your chairmans status

David Gill is willing to listen to offers for the clubs.
Few updates btw, stadium expansion + training/youth upgrades.
Value now £463m, debts still £519,

Just thought I'd add, trying to go bankrupt is risky- all the while your chairman is trying to sell the club your team will be worthless, your star players can be sold for a fraction of their value without your say so, so watch out.
