I'm playing as arsenal managed to get knocked out even though goal difference decides this tie breaker does it not?

IIRC I'm pretty sure champs league is results vs each other before goal difference, check the results between them.

Yes but I would think that he is referring to the fact Milan have -2

I googled it its goal difference anyway i beat milan 4-1 and drew 1-1

yup, champions league group isn't decided by goal difference, but by results between the two teams

Tie breaker rules in Champions League:

a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question
b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question
c) higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question
d) superior goal difference from all group matches played
e) higher number of goals scored
f) higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question, as well as its association, over the previous five seasons

its because Dortmund have a superior record against you claiming 6 out of 6 points but Milan have a superior record against Dortmund claiming 6 out of 6 whereas you only got 4 out of 6 against Milan thus Dortmund and Milan qualify hope that clears it up for you
