who changes their tactic every game as per your assistants advice pre match??
if you play a deep line and he suggests using a high one as your opponent struggles against that. do you alter it every game depending on who you play or do you start the same team and same tactic every game??

also player instructions pre game (close down, show onto foot) what is the best way to use all these extra little sliders or tweaks or do you just leave everything as is??

i would like to do some research into this! have been reading "team talks and team morale threads" and would like to get some feedback as i have mixed views on this subject!

also if you win say 3-0 the previous game against an Everton or Villareal as a Man Utd or Real Madrid and you go into the next game against a Stoke or Mallorca and lose 2-0 with average ratings of like 4.5 and 6.2 etc? how do you prevent this from happening? where and how do you go about getting consistency (this reverts back to the questions above)

feel free to post suggestions and views etc.

this is definately a good read with regards to this subject, take some time and read through this..

Personally, I just play the same tactic throughout the whole thing no matter who I'm playing.. although sometimes I will change it mid-game if I can see us struggling or them struggling but we can't break them down.

I'll only change if the tactic is going through a bad phase or if i'm a relegation team i might play slightly more defensive against the top 4

Sometime its come to an annoying phase when something AWKWARD comes like what you have posted. Im managing Hellas Verona and got promoted to serie A on my 3rd season. I beat Inter 0-4, but got wrecked 1-0 against empoli and 0-3 against Ternana, its somehow Frustating when you dont know what went wrong. I followed my ***-man at half time when we're struggling.

most of the time I use the same tactics but when I want to change it I change just a couple things like short/direct passing or wide/narrow style depending on what pitch we play,I always check what my ***-man have to say on opposition instructions and use his advice also on half time he got some useful advices about our current tactic and situation on the pitch

you know for the amount of time i have been playing Fm, i have never really used the assitant manager feedback page and did not even know about the team talk reactions how some players get fired up etc.
brings another whole dimension to Fm :D

I take no notce of the Assistant Manager whatsoever. I never use Opposition Instructions or Touchline shouts. I still have lots of success, for me its all about Player,Tactics and Team Talks. Forget the rest.

im with JP, never use the opposition instructions. As for the assistant, i find that as soon as you change something thanks to his advice, another problem crops up, basically you can never satisfy him and theres always something wrong, so i ignore it.

I do use touchline shouts, but only occasionally.

I may take bits and peices of advice but for the most part I ignore him.

When I play in the Champions I always pay attention to what my assistant says. I fired the one I had and brought Pako Ayestaran, he is a beast. I always ask him before every match how to mark the players of the other team and as I said, do everything he says when I play the Champions. That ´s how I won the Champions in my second season with Roma (first time I played the Champions) including beating Barcelona in 1/16, a 4-1 to Madrid at home in quarter final and a 3-0 to Juventus in the final.
I never change the tactic, but I do change some things like tempo, line and all that.

i rarely change much in tactics, just player roles to match their strengths. then i use the shouts when needed.

i never listen to the assistant manager, but i do use OP instructions, and touchline shouts occaisonally, as jake says if you listen to him on one thing another problem crops up, so i play the way i want, and only react when necessary

i never even look at backroom pre-match advice, I prefer to do it the proper way, look at opponents team, tactics, weak players, and pinpoint the areas to beat down.

Couldn't have said it better. I'm the same way.

i have taken some of the info the team talks guide i had linked at the bottom and what some of you have said and i do not change tactic AT ALL anymore, take my assistants advice on who to close down, tackle hard and show on left foot, NO touchline shouts and i have won 4 on the trot and not lost in 8 (well just lost 2-1 to Getafe, was already Qualified for 2nd round of Europa league so played my 2nd string team)

team talks are the way forward to get results! its as simple as that! read the guides and use some of the techniques they suggest.

Only if my team is much worse ill bother checking his advice and i rarely follow them when i change stuff.

Nope, never do. I use my own tactic and stick with it. Changing it week in week out will frustrate the players eventually.

too few options in the poll, sometimes for example should be there

I use the assistants advice sometimes, but it all depends also on my save game, don't use him in all of my saves.

Assistant managers generally don't have a clue. I ignore backroom advice, his team talks, opposition instructions and everything else. I only use him for Friendlies and press conferences. XD

i use no advice from him, i am sometimes referred to as too angry, meaning because i use control i am flooding the midfield and i often get silly bookings, he usually tells me to go less aggresive, i just ignore him
